That's Awesome Tyroc. I like the track star aspect of your bio. Even if he blows the knee out I bet after some rehab he would be ten times faster than me. And probably most of the Joes.

Came across this site
G.I. JOE COMMAND FILES Very interesting take on his Joeverse, very well thought out, his character profiles are impressive too, only quibble is his ranks conflict with the duty stations, for example Alpine is an 18F but is an E4, that sort of thing. Still, it's excellent work and I enjoyed browsing his site. That's an interesting take on the Joe team. Good find! |

Man that is pretty amazing. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into it. He's done a great job with ASI and training, but my only gripe is with the ranks given, especially since most of these guys are now Green Berets. Also wouldn't your Special Forces MOS be first?
What type of MOS do Delta guys have? Standard Special Forces Weapons Sgt?

What type of MOS do Delta guys have? Standard Special Forces Weapons Sgt? Yeah I have never been a fan of the ranks in G.I.Joe but some people prefer to keep them. I prefer mine to at least be an E-5 for enlisted and O-3 for officer, but that is just me. As far as Delta I think I read somewhere that 70% of their Operators are from either the 75th Regiment or Special Forces. I think they enlist from various MOS's. I am trying to do the same with my Joes, make the majority of them from SOF units such as the 75th and SF. I also want to include the 82nd Airborne, 173rd Airborne and 101st Air Assault. Even though they are not listed as "SOF" in most cases they function very similar to one (like the 75th). |

Yeah there are only so many "Rangers" at any given time but the number of Ranger Schooled LRS NCOs must be pretty high.

^^^^^ I would imagine so as well. Ranger School is more about leadership and since Delta Operators need to be mature enough to potentially work alone I would think this would be more beneficial when trying out for Delta.
I want to talk about Airborne for a bit (Talltree that is). In my Joe-verse everyone is Airborne-qualified (meaning they can perform static-line jumps). I also have him starting out as a 15T UH-60 Helicopter Repairer (his Helicopter Gunship Gunner SMS) then re-enlisting as an 11B and being assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division (Airborne Infantryman PMS). In a unit where everyone is Airborne-qualified why would he have a codename of "Airborne"? My reasoning is after the Original 13 went through the selection process Airborne was part of the second class who passed selection to join the Joes. Maybe he was the first person formerly from the 82nd and they just decided to call him "Airborne" (as all of the Original 13 came from Special Forces, the 75th and a few other units). Also I am trying to find a way for him to also be MFF-qualified but I can find no reason why someone from the 82nd would go to MFF training. Does anyone know if the 82nd would send someone to MFF school? Either I am going to make him non-MFF qualified or have him go to MFF school after he joins the Joes. I know I get a little elaborate on all the Joes former MOS's and such but it helps me place them in my Joe-verse. |

I've always thought of him as a former member of the 101st and being Air Assault qualified, since the card art had him coming down a rope. I'd also think he'd spend more time around helicopters in the 101st.

As far as 82nd ABN MFF qualified troops go, I think Parachute Riggers are MFF qualified after becoming NCO's. I'll have to look it up but at least in the Commonwealth, parachute riggers are Static Line qualified and after achieving the rank of CPL have to be MFF qualified as well. Riggers are supposed to be able to accompany any and all supply drops at any time so I would imagine it'd be somewhat similar in the US.
Edit - Okay, did some checking. In principle, anyone can nominate for MFF training as long as it is approved and endorsed by one's chain of command. In practice, there is zero chance of any training unless one is a member of an SF / SMU unit, certain elements of the Ranger Regiment and Parachute Riggers attached to said units https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/w...to-halo-school Last edited by Tyroc; 06-15-2016 at 01:15 AM.. |
