So the other customs I want to make, just waiting on parts are:
Combatant Craft Crewman (codenamed: Waverunner) This wil be my "hardest" one yet as it'll involve switching legs and upper body. I want to use Torpedo's upper body (with a different head) and camoflaged lower legs. He'll have Torpedo's mask and backpack for diving when needed. Communications Officer (codenamed: Windtalker) Undecided on if using Airborne's body and head, or using Spirit's upper body (with different lower legs) and Airborne's head. Would probably paint Spirit's shirt green. Yeah, he's a Navajo communications officer. There's not enough of 'em in the Joe team. Combat Controller (codenamed: Airstrike) I'm thinking of using Resolute Duke for most of this one. I think I'll use comic pack Beachhead's webgear, since it has a red beret on the shoulder.

I see the Vipers as equivalent to Marines/Rangers.

I'm inclined to see the Range Vipers as Cobra's equivalent to the Airborne Rangers. Short of Python Patrol (Which I see as Cobra's Special Forces), I think the Range Vipers may be the toughest land forces Cobra has... with the exception of Alley Vipers. Alley Vipers have got to be tied with Range Vipers as the tougest Cobra Land unit, short of Python Patrol or the Plague (both of which I see as special operations)
The Crimson Guard is also very tough, and I've always thought the Iron Grenadiers were on par with them. Yeah, I see Range Vipers and Alley Vipers as being the toughest land forces. Rock Vipers are specialized Range Vipers (kind of like the 10th Mountain Group). Yeah, IGs are at least Ranger-equivalents, I cant' see Destro having any less. CGs would be Green Beret-equivalents, in so much as they work with the "natives"

Crimson Immortals probably are trained to do everything, so they are my top.
For me Snow Serpents seemed like the toughest of them all but the Para-Vipers took it to another level. I would rank them pretty much equals. With an Ice-Viper being the most highly trained. Next would be the Range-Vipers for me. I see them more like Green Berets. Cobra sends them in to mingle with the locals but they aren't really trying to help anyone but Cobra. I assume they are totally ruthless. Plus they are usable in most climates. Then Eels. Hydros and Morays are equal. Lampreys a slight step above the rest. Night Vultures, Heli-Vipers and AirDevils are next. (These guys are crazy) Then the NEO-Vipers. In my book the experiment is over but the few remaining are still utilized and they are trained as officers with Special Weapons and Tactics. Alley-Vipers would get the next vote. Imagine being expertly trained to take hostages and take out police stations. Next a Crimson Guard. I don't know what training they get, but I assume they get it all. I imagine they rotate through units and serve as advisers or command special Units to get their training. Like Python Patrol or Desert theaters. Probably CLAWS are next. Next I see the climate type vipers. Jungle/Rock/Sand/Night/Pit and Swamp Rats and Swamp-Vipers Then the various Vehicle drivers Followed by the Weapons vipers Frag; HEAT; SAW; Laser; FLAK; Incinerators Finally a VIPER which is still higher than a Blue Shirt. So where does Nightwatch fit into it all? They're "blueshirts" but an elite unit.
And the new Resolute trooper?

Aren't resolute troopers just like the regular blue-shirts?

Why in the WORLD is Flint's Occupation "Warrant Officer" and then, the only job he has- and he doesn't even have it because he's an NCO, NOT a Warrant Officer. This one thing threw me off so bad when I first joined the Army. It's terrible because for starters it's not even a job, it's a rank- then it's not even his rank!
THIS is why Lady Jaye would choose me. No ambiguity in my profession or rank/ grade. |
