Here's what I got so far, better pictures to come.
Left to right: Lone Wolf, Medivac and Cobra Disguise Mutt (extra parts laying around, lol). Lone Wolf is: Comic pack Beachhead body and unmasked head, along with the scarf thing (for concealment), with Mutt's helmet and single carded Beachhead's gun and a Marauder's Inc Sniper Rifle. Medivac is: Jet Pack Duke body, Airborne's gun/helmet, backpack and leg harness, along with Mutt's vest.

Nice Customs. Simple, but Really nice.
I'm not much of an artist, and you guys have been very patient with my customs that I've shown on here. I don't know a lot about custom figures, but I think this much is true: the main question to ask is not how good they look, or how much paint did you use... the real question is whether they will work for you? If the figure does what you want/need it to do in your Joeverse, then I say "go for it!" My Claymore, Rapid-Fire, Super Trooper, Grid-Iron, and other customs would probably be like junk to anyone else, but they work for me. They're fun for me - and that's the point of Toys. Great Job, Troynos. I really like your customs.

Hey Troynos, what's with your new icon pic?
Also, on a completely unrelated note: What the heck is the deal with Rock Viper version 2? Why didn't they just call him Range Viper... 'cause that's what he is. What do y'all think? Which also brings me to my next question/topic for discussion: How do you rate your Vipers? Which unit is the toughest? How do you use them? I can't wait to hear from y'all on this one.

I really like Medivac. I didn't originaly intend to use Mutt's vest, was going to use Airbornes, but was having a helluva time getting it off so I gave up. But I like Mutt's alot. It really seems to fit nicely.
These are just kit-bashes, pieces taken from other figures. The most "work" had to do was taking the legs off Airborne and Duke to get the leg harness off and on. One of these days I'll try my hand at painting, Night Force Scarlett is waiting. But yeah, these guys fit "holes" in my joeverse.

Someone else here was using the Scarlett pic, so this one is one I use on another forum (it's from the video game comic Penny Arcade) and was the only pic I had that fit the avatar size, so it's a place holder. 2. No kidding. That one always got me confused. I never did like the Range Vipers, at least the look of 'em. They just don't say "wilderness trooper" to me. 3. I know some of the cards have the Vipers as the lowest rung of the Cobras, but I always figured 'em for Cobra Special Forces (just the look of 'em). Eels come from the ranks of the Vipers. So the toughest would be Para-Vipers, Eels and Snow Serpants. I figure the speciality-vipers are on par with normal vipers, just specialized for different uses. I'd put Night Vipers and Alley Vipers between normal Vipers and Eels.

So I see Cobra much like I see Joe - There's the Air Force, Navy, and Army
The Cobra Air Force has a lot of pilots, and one might even say that the Strato-Vipers are top of the heap, unless you count the Star-Vipers. However, it doesn't seem like they are really used like PJ's or any other Air Force Special Ops Unit. Cobra's Naval Troops are often tasked for Special Operations. Eels seem to be the base standard - almost SEAL equivalents I think Cobra Divers and Destro's Undertoes are beneath the Eels. However, The Eels branch of into at least 4 special ops units. 1. Hydro-Vipers 2. Morays 3. Snow Serpents 4. Para-Vipers It seems that the Hydro-Vipers and the Morays were sort of genetically enhanced Eels. Probably not a long standing unit. However, Snow Serpents have been around a long time, and it seems that their training was about as tough as it got in Cobra, until the Para-Vipers showed up. I'm inclined to think that they're so different that it's hard to compare them.

Yeah, anything X-Viper I see as a part of Cobra Special Forces, be it Air, Sea or Land. The toughest of those would be the Para-Vipers and Snow Serpants (since those are Eels with more training).
Moray's are like the Navy's Combatant Craft Crewmen, Semi-SEaLs (Eels) with an emphasis in boat combat. Divers and Undertow's are normal naval troops. Hydro-Vipers, I'm not sure about.. They're Super-Eels, so I see those as almost an "officer" for the Eels.

I'm inclined to see the Range Vipers as Cobra's equivalent to the Airborne Rangers. Short of Python Patrol (Which I see as Cobra's Special Forces), I think the Range Vipers may be the toughest land forces Cobra has... with the exception of Alley Vipers. Alley Vipers have got to be tied with Range Vipers as the tougest Cobra Land unit, short of Python Patrol or the Plague (both of which I see as special operations)
The Crimson Guard is also very tough, and I've always thought the Iron Grenadiers were on par with them.

I hear what you're saying, but I don't see "Tele-Vipers" or "Medi-Vipers" as Special Forces. I see them as job specific titles.
Rock-Vipers are pretty tough, and Night Vipers are cool.
