I'll be happy with the new comics as long as they don't get too absurd. Like shooting rockets down with pistols and other nonsense. I hope issue 1 shows up at Oxford Comics tomorrow.

Troynos, did you say you had 41 long boxes of comics. Damn, how many is that? What other comics beside GI Joe do you collect?

2nd pass, using Loose Cannon's as a base:
LONE-WOLF Marine Scout Sniper File name: Nicholas Hathcock Wolf Primary Military Specialty: Marine Scout Sniper(0317) Secondary Military Specialty: Reconnaissance Man(0321) Place of Birth: Parris Island, S.C. Rank: E-7 (Gunnery Sargeant) Born on the grounds of the Marine Recruiting Center at Parris Island, LONE-WOLF is a legend in the Marine Corps. They say this 8th generation Marine skipped kindergarten and went straight to Boot Camp. Never one to shy away from an impossible mission, Lone-Wolf has been to some of the most dangerous and inhospitable places on earth. He is a Qualified Combatant Diver, (he also took BUDs/SEAL training for R&R). Airborne qualified as well as Mountaineering instructor certified. When asked for volunteers for sniper school, LONE-WOLF naturally stepped up to the plate. Qualified Expert in all NATO/WARSAW Pact small arms and Sniper Rifles. Explosive expert. "He tends to keep to himself, but that's part of the job. Parachuting alone into hostile territory, only to wait ten days at the target motionlessly, providing sitreps to the assault teams and cover fire on the assault, takes a rare breed of individual. It's good to know he's always got your back, even though you can't see him."

I started collecting when G.I. Joe #1 came out and stopped about 3-4 years ago (when I got married). I've recently started up again (which corresponds with being divorced, go figure, lol). Started with Joe, then Transformers and just grew from there. At my height I was getting probably about 40 monthly titles and who knows how many limited series, specials, etc.. a month. Pretty damn costly, but it's a nice collection. It's about 235 comics to a long box, and 4 short boxes at 145 to a box. So in long boxes it's about 10,700 and 580 in short boxes. They aren't all boarded so can probably fit more to a box, but not all the boxes are 100% full. So what's that? 11,200? Holy shit....

Holy shit is right, dude! Sorry to hear about the divorce (didn't know about that). Man, that's some serious comic collecting. Just put a sign on your front door and you've got a comicbook store ready for business. I've got one short box of GI Joe (not quite the whole Marvel run but close) with some miscellanous ones thrown in the mix.

2nd Card:
Medivac Pararescueman File Name: Troy Nichols Primary Military Speciality: Pararescueman Secondary Military Speciality: ??? Birthplace: Concord, New Hampshire Grade: OF-1 (Lt) An avid snowboarder, he had an accident on Tuckerman's Ravine and a member of the Ski Patrol saved him. Since then, he's wanted to help others in emergency situations, doing everything he could well in school. An Air Force recruiter mentioned the PJs in passing one day and that was all it took, Medivac enlisted that day. Graduated top of his class, he completed the PJ pipeline at an accerlerated pace. Spends his offtime researching new emergency medical techniques and combat extraction, once he's fixed up his charge it's his job to get the man home safely. "Medivac takes the PJ creed "that others may live" to heart. He doesn't think twice about air dropping into a hot zone and extracting his teammates. If there's no extraction out, he'll make one."

Thanks. That was a lot of years spent getting that collection. I'm forcing myself to limit it this time around (that and don't have the "free" money I used to, another byproduct of being married, a sizable debt, lol). Will only be getting about 12 or so titles a month.

I really like the sentence, "If there's no extraction out, he'll make one." Also liked the part of how he was saved and that's what sparked his interest. If you can, maybe give some specific details about his accerlerated training. How many weeks did it take? How many people washed out of his class? Does he have any extra special skills?

Okay guys, time to help me write some filecards for my kit-bash customs.
First up: Marine Force Recon or Scout Sniper (can't decide which to make him). Brief description: He's a sniper and recon. His job on the Joe team is to go out and scout out the enemy base/location/etc.. and then report back to the Joe team. Then he goes back to the location and acts as a spotter for the assault forces moving in as well as a sniper. The card will be set up like the old style. First part will be the name and all that (I got that covered). The middle part is the qualifications and the last part is a little quote. Code Name: Lone Wolf Middle: Lone Wolf joined the Marines right out of high school and is a leatherneck thru and thru. He graduated top of his class from Marine Sniper School and is considered a legend. He joined the Force Recon School to further his chosen path in the Corps. He'd rather be the one that covers his fellow Marines and insures their survival. Last: "It takes guts to do what Lone Wolf does. Not only is he the first one in, responsible for mapping out the enemy locations. But he goes back in and acts as a spotter and sniper for the assault teams. All this by himself with no support." Definately need help on the middle. Code Name: Lone Wolf USMC Reconnaissance/Sniper File Name: Woolfe, Charles Michael Place of Birth: Annapolis, MD Primary Military Specialty: Force Recon (0321) Secondary Military Specialty: Scout/Sniper (0317) Rank/Pay Grade: E-7 (Gunnery Sergeant) Serial Number: 111-01-775 Woolfe was born at the Naval Academy. His father was the football coach at Annapolis, and a fourth generation Naval Officer. It was his father's dream that Charles would grow up to be an outstanding Naval Officer like his father was - hopefully on a Carrier or as a Pilot. Unfortunantly, Woolfe's parents were killed in a car accident when he was 12 and he spent the next 5 years being shuffled from one foster home to the next. That experience changed Charlie Woolfe into a loner who learned to depend only on himself - but patriotism was in his blood. At age 17, the State of Maryland legally declared Charlie and adult and allowed him to enlist in the Marine Corps. No one expected him to be the Honor Graduate at Paris Island, mainly because he was the quietest recruit they'd ever seen. After basic he attended the Marine Corps School of Infantry at Quantico, and eventually the Force Recon Course at Camp Lejeune. While at 2nd Recon, he attended Airborne, Ranger, HALO, Scuba, and Pathfinder Schools. He was then selected to go back to Quanitico to become a Scout/Sniper for MARSOC. While at Quantico, he earned the reputation for being the only Marine Scout/Sniper who didn't need or want a spotter. It was that distinction that brought him to the attention of the G.I. Joe Team. Gunny Woolfe is the quintessential "quiet professional". His performance is always exemplary, and his sense of duty is unfaltering. That's why he's the guy the Joe's send in first - way ahead of anyone else, just to recon and evaluate the situation. If the Joes decide to move in, it's likely that Lone Wolf will never move. He'll stay situated and snipe the enemy from a concealed position until the operation is completely over. Then, after everyone else has gone home, Gunnery Sgt. Charlie Woolfe will make his way on foot to his extraction point - sometimes 40 klicks away - just to make sure that there were no last minute surprises. He's the first in and the last out and He exemplifies the very best of what it means to be a U.S. Marine. I used the Name "Charles Michael" in reference to the phrase "Charlie Mike" which means "Continue Mission".

That's awesome Oliver, bit much for a filecard but I can use it for the Order of Battle entry, lol. I can combine the two (2nd version which was Loose Cannons with my edits and yours) and make a kick ass bio.
