Hey Oliver, love to hear your thoughts on that filecard for my custom Scout/Sniper-Force Recon guy.
I'm liking what Loose Cannon did up.

Same with me. I dont have the space for my collection. I could display them where there is space but I prefer to stay married.

I HATED the first DDP series. I stopped reading it after that, which sucked because Joe was the first comic I got and got me into collecting comics (45+ long boxes later...).
I ended up getting digital scans of the entire DDP run (including America's Elite) and still wasn't that impressed by it. I like the take on Beachhead so far. Reminds me of his appearance in Special Missions (Marvel) #1 where he's crawling into the plane singing "I want to be an airborne ranger, I want to live a life of danger". To me that's Beachhead, not the drill instructor that DDP made him into. |

Okay guys, time to help me write some filecards for my kit-bash customs.
First up: Marine Force Recon or Scout Sniper (can't decide which to make him). Brief description: He's a sniper and recon. His job on the Joe team is to go out and scout out the enemy base/location/etc.. and then report back to the Joe team. Then he goes back to the location and acts as a spotter for the assault forces moving in as well as a sniper. The card will be set up like the old style. First part will be the name and all that (I got that covered). The middle part is the qualifications and the last part is a little quote. Code Name: Lone Wolf Middle: Lone Wolf joined the Marines right out of high school and is a leatherneck thru and thru. He graduated top of his class from Marine Sniper School and is considered a legend. He joined the Force Recon School to further his chosen path in the Corps. He'd rather be the one that covers his fellow Marines and insures their survival. Last: "It takes guts to do what Lone Wolf does. Not only is he the first one in, responsible for mapping out the enemy locations. But he goes back in and acts as a spotter and sniper for the assault teams. All this by himself with no support." Definately need help on the middle. If I may suggest some friendly revisions. I would cut the last sentence--"All this by himself with no support"--because you just described him as a spotter, which means he doesn't always act alone. Plus, you might want to give him a minor but interesting character flaw to counter his badassness. Make him a little more human. Other than that, I like what you have so far. Keep rewriting. |

I meant spotter as in he sits in his look-out and watches the action and "spots" troop movements to give updates to the assault teams.
He'll end up working alongside my future Combat Controller.

I really don't think my wife really knows how much I have. For me if I buy anymore ARAH I'm only army building. There are a few pieces I still want, but not much. So I too am only buying the new stuff. |

You don't want to know what's in my fridge. It's pretty damn scary.

I found a new found respect for the SGM Beachhead of the DDP run. He wassome what underdeveloped in the Marvel comics but was heavily used in the cartoons. The Hard Nosed Ranger in the DDP comics was cool, so when they downsized the team, his not being there always bothered me. On the bright side, all the joes seem slightly younger again. As if they are early 30s tops. It also doesn't seem so dark. There is still plenty of blood, but they all have a swagger about them and not so much that they need to save the world. (I sure we'll see that later) |
