I debated on whether to make Rock'n'Roll and Grunt SF Weapons Sergeant's or not. I think with R'nR the case could be made that he grew his beard after joining the Joes (since they seem to have more relaxed grooming standards) provided he was with the 75th (where a beard would be a no-no). Tyroc wisely pointed out in regards to Grunt that he would have been just a standard Infantry guy (and not a former SOF soldier) hence his codename of "Grunt". Quote:
Flash could have been a tech guy from China Lake (or some similar place), testing and evaluating high tech equipment with a new high tech team. Not sure if anyone remembers this old insert (YOJOE.COM | Operation Freedom) but it mentioned Flash deploying electronic booby traps. Sounds like experimental weapons to me.
I'm not sure I see Breaker as an SF Comms Sgt. I see him more as a guy from the Intelligence Support Activity. Welcome! I am not sure on this but someone else may have the answer. |

By the way, does anybody know what that jacked up device is that Lightfoot uses when he is in the field? I think yojoe.com has it listed as a "mine detector unit" or some such nonsense, but it looks more like a mine extractor claw (if that even exists) plus he has a robot "friend." The Impel card says he uses an "airfoil-powered mine detector with a digitized oscillating frequency module and a built-in geiger counter / spectrometer and scintillometer." Is this based on a real EOD tool and backpack?

I always thought it was something they made up like the Tele-viper camera gun has optional laser and Microwave beam adds.

Anyway, if (like the Impel card says) Lightfoot's contraption is "airfoil-powered," that means it is blade-powered, like a fan. That's just plain weird, or am I missing something? Last edited by seaneley; 02-21-2016 at 01:51 PM.. Reason: typo |

You got me, and what do you need a scintillometer for? Is he worried about the humidity, and if it will ruin his manly coiffe?
What he really needs is a gun. Imagine him being reinvented as a Special Forces Engineer/ Radio Operator. And of course lose the Yellow. I will give you Airtight, but that is when this Crap should have been stopped.

Not really sure. I wonder if the names were based on someone Hama knew?

Regarding the scintillometer, I just randomly accessed this site: SC-133 Portable Scintillation Counter | Delta Epsilon Instruments Inc. I guess scintillation counters can be used to check for radioactivity: "Related applications could include the location and remediation of elements of dirty bombs, fissile material, or fragments of used armor piercing or bunker busting spent uranium penetrators in the aftermath of armed conflict." And his little red robot? I don't even know what he's for, except to run over mines and get blown up! Last edited by seaneley; 02-21-2016 at 02:05 PM.. Reason: New Info. |
