Declassified did a good job of tying the original 13 together thru Hawk and Gen. Flagg. Which made sense. These two guys wouldn't just pick names out of a hat for a squad like the Joes, they'd want people they had encountered before and knew firsthand.
I wish that it had stopped at Snake-Eyes/Storm Shadow/Stalker. Even having Wade Collins become a CG was too much. That didn't just border on soap opera, it was living at the town center of soap opera. And when Snake-Eyes was a prisoner in the Cobra building in New York and Stalker, Storm Shadow and Wade go in by themselves to rescue him. C'mon. That was some of the best comic writing in the 80's. 'Nuff Said. I love Wade Collins... and then Sean becomes Kamakura? Awesome.

2 points for discussion...
1. As mentioned earlier, Claymore did 3 tours in 'Nam. Given the fact that he's a Ranger, speaks all the languages and all the other training, has an Ivy League education, etc. And given the fact that one of his specialties is like Intel/Counter Terrorism - Do you think he was with the Phoenix Program in 'Nam, and basically was a commando tasked to work for C.I.A.? 2. Do you think it's plausible that after Lady Jaye was killed, Snake-Eyes may have reached out to Flint as one who understands that kind of pain, and Flint may have trained with Snake-Eyes as a way of healing and refocusing? I'm very interested to hear what y'all think.

Also, I reread WWIII recently. Issue 6 (of 12) has all the files on the Plague. I've got to make some customs... those guys are awesome.
Has anyone done some Plague customs? I think Hasbro has made about 6 of the members of the Plague (Munitia comes out as a DTC figure this month). I think that by using a DTC Saw Viper and a DTC Snow Serpent and an original Night Creeper, I can make three more customs that will fit in pretty well with the others and bring the total up to about 9 members of my Plague unit.

Yeah. His 8" (Sigma 6) figure's file card basically says he's been trained by Snake-Eyes in hand-to-hand combat. Other references in Sigma 6 also say that Flint is sniper qualified. If Flint could add hand-to-hand combat expertise and sniper training to his list of qualifications, he would be just that much more amazing.

Yeah. Flint is a bad-ass and would only be more so.

I agree that it was pretty "soap opera", but man, that story where Snake-Eyes and Stalker let Wade drive off into the sunset and start his life over with his new family - and they let him go because they owed him for leaving him in the Jungle for the VC. Man, that story gets to me every time I read it.
Awesome. Yeah, all that is pretty good. Just over the edge into soap opera-ville. I would have been very happy if it had just stayed at that but connecting CC, Firefly and Zartan into the mix as well as the Baroness was just too much. Although I did like Storm Shadow taking Billy on as his apprentice. That worked.

It's hard to guess age based on rank. What Loose Cannon and others have said regarding time in service in regards to rank makes a lot of sense, I just don't know if it's applicable in Joeverse. It seems like a lot of those guys should have been promoted more regularly. Why did Falcon stay a LT for so long? Can't he ever make Captain? He would need to be a Bird Colonel by now.
My feeling is that when you join the Joe team, your dossier/record is "frozen". And because the Joe team doesn't necessarily follow a strict rank structure, the rank you're at when you join the team is the rank you stay at. All the promotions and medals you'd receive stay with your record and are locked up until you retire from the Joe team and then it becomes retroactive. So Falcon joined as a Lt. After he leaves the Joe team, he'd get pushed up to Colonel and get a bunch more medals to wear. Also, because alot of Joe ops are classified, they don't really "count" as far as promotions go.

I think could add Hawk to that Program as well. Maybe not fully in the program, but could assume ran into Claymore thru ops at that time. Which is how Claymore was able to get his special mission status with the Joe team. 3 tours in 'Nam, Claymore would really be up there in age. Ever watch the movie Spygame? Robert Redford's CIA agent recruits Brad Pitt. Pitt is a sniper in 'Nam and Redford uses him for a black ops assignment and then recruits him into the CIA after the war. Sounds like a good Joe to me, lol.

I realy don't see SE doing that. I see Scarlett maybe trying to get SE to do it, and SE just going "has to deal with it in his own way".
