I actually thought of combining recon and sniper Joes. There are so many Joes that can go both assault and recon (such as Stalker, Gung-Ho, Leatherneck, all the SEALS, etc). I thought of actually having each Troop perform both assault and recon tasks. I think the SAS has their Troops performing both roles (I might be mistaken though).
The sniper Joes I came up with are: Claymore (Troop Commander) Snow Job Spirit Low-Light Ambush Windchill Ballistic Hollow Point Crosshair Barrel Roll Long Range v2 Mouse I believe each helicopter had 2-3 Delta snipers aboard them. The Blackhawk Shughart and Gordon were on had a third sniper but he could not deploy down on the ground with them. Apparently he took over one of the mini guns after a crew chief was hit. Also the first Blackhawk that was shot down (Wolcott's) had two Delta snipers, Jim Smith and Daniel Busch. Smith survived but Busch died of his wounds later on. He and Smith were defending the crashed helicopter and Busch was shot several times. |

Forgot about the Arctic Joe Snipers. Scout from Action Force? Shooter if you are including females. What about the laser guys? Flash, Sci-Fi, Red-Spot they all seem like snipers.

I have sort of swapped Scout and Tracker in Action Force and replaced the Codename Tracker with Sapper. Makes more sense that the mine detecting/engineering guy would be called Sapper and the tracker would be named Scout.

I was starting to breakdown my Joes into Six Squadrons.
1) Airborne 2) Marine Expeditionary Recon Force (Marine, Jungle, SEALs, Navy SWCC, small Air Wing) 3) Mobility (Armor, artillery, Mechanized Recon, Cavalry Scouts) 4)Urban Warfare(Intelligence, CQC, Ninjas) 5) Mountain (Oktober Guard, Arctic) 6) Special Weapons Force (Battle Force 2000 and Steel Brigade)

I am attempting to use the majority of the named Joes as my actual operators. A few of them will be used in support roles, such as EOD, dog handlers, signals, CBRN, etc. I figured that most of them would see some action. The thing with my Joes is they bring their former skillsets with them, however, they are no longer part of their former units. Falcon and Flint are no longer Green Berets, they are Joe Operators. Torpedo and Wet-Suit are no longer SEAL's, they are Joe Operators (and so on). They attend a Joe operator course which also teaches them new skills and how to function as a coordinated team (since all four services are represented).
Which brings up the question: since people like Falcon and Flint are no longer part of the Green Berets would they still be allowed to wear an actual green beret? They served with former ODA's and of course attended the Special Forces courses, however, my understanding is one cannot wear a green beret unless actively serving with U.S. Army Special Forces. Same scenario with any Joe who had served with an Airborne unit. Note: Yes I know Flint was produced with a black beret. In my Joe-verse he served on an ODA before trying out for the Joes. |

That would actually be a good place for the Arctic troops, as a part of the Mountain Division.

I am figuring my Six Squadrons are about 60 men Strong each. How big are SAS Sabre Squadrons?
65 if you include the senior leadership. (I am trying to rationalize a way to include my 12 Generals, and 12 Colonels and 12 Lt. Colonels.) Essentially I have Colton, Keel-Haul, Austin, Sharpe, Hollingsworth, LJ Flagg (Not dead) Funding each unit separately. Those Six are the Jugglers. THey each control some funding stream, and this is how they divide up the JOE budget, since everything is off the books. Each one has a O-7 General under his command who is the Commander in Theater with an O-6 Deputy. (O-7)--(Hawk, Flagg, Rey, Ledger, Iron-Bear, SAD Guy) (O-6)--(Payload, Trent, Braddock, Trautman, Hannibal, Eagle(Not Action Force), Courage, Brehkov, Doc, Jane, MIke Powers, INdiana Jones) None of these guys really see any action.

I wonder what ISA does? What would probably make sense is the Joes would constantly be rotating through and back to their parent units. Especially if it's a Task Force setup. Maybe serve 18 months and then back to the Rangers for example. Maybe the Joes always have a (Marine, SEAL, Green Beret, Ranger) detail and guys cycle through or a whole SEAL Squad perhaps cycles through.
