All cavalry squadrons are considered RSTA, though the scout platoons organic to the battalions perform the same tasks.

Awesome Tanksmasher! That's not even considering the Joes coming from other SOF units responsible for deep reconnaissance.
Have we seen 19B Calvary Scout show up on the Filecards yet? How many guys are showing up as Recon on the Filecards? Like Blocker - Mechanized Recon Starduster - Air Transportable Recon Dart - Recon (listed as Pathfinder)

Like Blocker - Mechanized Recon Starduster - Air Transportable Recon Dart - Recon (listed as Pathfinder) Pathfinder Sneak Peek Altitude Recoil Recondo (given his codename) Sgt Boulder Desert Wolf Gung-Ho (Force Recon) Leatherneck (Force Recon) If we are going with the Joes being more "Delta" or "SAS"-like there is definitely a case of making all the armor guys cavalry instead. |

I've made most of the non-tank armor drivers, like Cross-Country, Blocker, Dodger, and so on, cavalry scouts. Not sure about Backstop. His MOS is armor but the Persuader looks more like self-propelled artillery than a tank.

Going back to the MFF conversation. What Joes, besides Sky Patrol, would be MFF qualified? Would you add them to Sky Patrol?
I am thinking of adding a couple combat controllers and even a Weatherman to the Joes. Would that fit with Sky Patrol? I use Countdown as a Air Liason Officer with Sky Patrol, but I'm not sure I like him outranking the team. I was thinking of moving Skydive to Captain, but I just switched him with Altitude as the Sgt. Major.

Without a certified JTAC, you'd need someone to be responsible for ordnance dropped in the wrong spot. Similar to having an officer pilot supervise weapon release for enlisted drone pilots. In a joint op, you also want someone with some rank making sure your guys aren't being misused by an officer from another command.

I would probably keep all the Marines and Seals separate on a SCUBA team of some kind. I mean I guess an Air Liason Officer would work as Sky Patrol commander though.
I suppose you would not have an Air Liason Officer and a Special Tactics Officer together. I probably will but it seems redundant.

I tend to make either Flint or Falcon (I pretend he is MFF-qualifed. lol) in charge of my HALO Troop. I actually prefer an actual officer be in charge of my Troops for consistency purposes so I usually stick Flint in another position. |

So MFF-qualified Joes:
Definite: Ripcord Freefall Skydive Static Line Airwave Altitude Drop Zone Airborne II Possibly: Airborne (if indeed the Joes are all basic airborne qualified why would he have a codename of Airborne otherwise?) Spirit Duke Snake-Eyes (whether he is former SF or RRC) Stalker (same reasons as Snake-Eyes) Flint Falcon Beachhead (if you go with him as former SF) Grand Slam Barrel Roll Grunt (if you make the glider pilots as such) Gung Ho Leatherneck Torpedo Wet-Suit Tracker Wet Down Link Talbot Harpoon Night Fox Starduster Breaker (if used as SF) Outback (if used as SF) Recondo (if used as SF) Big Brawler (if used as SF) Claymore Shipwreck (if used as a SEAL) Cloudburst Skymate Lifeline (if used as a PJ) Deep Six (if used as Navy EOD) Depth Charge (if used as either a SEAL or Navy EOD) Dusty (if used as SF) Rock'n'Roll (if used as SF) I am not saying that ALL Special Forces, Force Recon and Navy SEALs are MFF-qualifed but they have a better chance than say a tank driver or a standard infantry soldier. |
