My Joes snipers are:
Snow Job Spirit Recondo (on the fence) Low-Light Ambush Crosshairs Hollow Point Bullhorn Barrel-Roll Mouse Ballistic (from the Extreme line) Windchill I can't think of anyone else right off the top of my head. Clearly not enough Joes to fill a 16-man Troop if I went with a Delta structure, hence why I was thinking more SAS since (I believe) they integrate snipers into the Troops. Excellent points. If I go with the Delta structure I will look into making each Squadron specializing in their own insertion method. In regards to the Marines and Army I thought it was the other way around? I thought Army snipers just specialized in precision shooting whereas the Marines (Scout-Snipers in particular) did both precision shooting and reconnaissance? Or are you referring to the Australian military? |

Other possibilities are these characters could have the same codenames but be on different Squadrons. I am sure not everyone in A Squadron of say Delta or the SAS would know everyone on B Squadron or whatever. So there could be a chance there is a guy codenamed "Long Range" on A Squadron of my Joes who specializes as a forward observer and another guy with the same codename on C Squadron who is sniper-qualified. Of I could get creative and change their codenames (like I did with Airborne v2). How does everyone else handle the duplicate codenames? |

I use Air Raid for Sky Patrol Airborne and try to avoid duplicate codenames in my fan-fic, so I use Sidetrack V2, Lifeline v1, Long Range V1 and I don't use Blast Off because of the Space Force guy and I killed off Z Force Breaker and Steeler and SASF Stalker.
I have goofed though and got both Joe Tracker and Z Force Tracker because I needed four SEALs in a story and Wet Down was the noob in the four. |

I use Air Raid for Sky Patrol Airborne too. Haven't settled on Waylay or Bushwhack for Side Track.

I use AirRaid as a separate pilot. Sgt Six because Six is Airborne v2 real last name.
I use SAS Steeler as a separate character but I always forget his real last name. There has to be a good Codename for a Greek guy.

Spartan. or Trojan. or you could just use a Greek mythical god or hero's name, like Hercules, Ares, Perseus, etc.
and his name is Andreou Stalkis. Tracker is Raoul Santillana, Stalker is Ragnar Ragnarsson, Breaker is Paolo Brazzi and Blast Off is Greg Taggert. |

I like Spartan. A little close to Sparta. Trojan sounds good but it does lend itself to ridicule. Maybe Pegasus or Cyclops?
I forgot about Tracker and Scout. I call Tracker->Sapper. AF Stalker is out in my verse. I was thinking of adding AF Doc but I need to change the name too. Maybe "the Swede" because his real name is Sven. But he's from Norway so he hates it. Maybe Viking. Although he would make a good Arctic team medic.

What about Aegis or Argonaut?, Aegis as in the weapon system or Argonaut; In the IDW comic GI Joe - Future Noir, the Joes were transported via a gunship called the Argonaut, piloted by Sci-Fi.

I like those. Although Argonaut sounds good for a ship flown by Pegasus.
Here are the wikis with names: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z_Force_(Action_Force) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAS_(Action_Force) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_Force
