Y'know there's still ALOT more secrets in the file cards. I remember somewhere on this thread, I think it was Zulu Delta mentioned that all the file names for at least the first year or two came from the High School Yearbook of Larry Hama's mom. We also know that several are mashes based on Historical figures (Frostbite, Quick Kick, Heavy Metal) and some are bad puns (Scarlett, Alpine, Cutter).
We also know that quite a few are based on; Marvel Staff (Torpedo, Fast Draw, Rampage, Lifeline / Robo Joe, Ozone) Hasbro (Cesspool, Cannon Ball, Dusty, Depth Charge) GIJCC (Sure Fire, Big Brawler) Sunbow-Griffin Bacal staff (Banzai, Lady Jaye) I am now convinced that just about ALL filenames after 1985 are based on real people, either staff or relatives. Here are a few I never knew about Joseph B. Colton - Based on Kirk Bogizian's son Colton Joseph (presumably the B is for Bogizian). Also he's sometimes labeled 'Joseph R. Colton) GI Jane - Based on Hasbro Copywriter Ann Martelle |

So in other threads it's been debated whether there are two characters that share the code name Lt Stone and I believe the evidence suggests there are, but it appears that there's another code name shared by three characters: Long Range. Would you guys agree?
Driver/Artilleryman - SFC Karl Fritz [http://www.yojoe.com/action/89/longrange.shtml] Driver - SGT Alejandro Garcia [http://www.yojoe.com/action/05/longrange2.shtml] Marksman/Sniper - (name?) [http://www.yojoe.com/sigma6/files/longrange.shtml] |

I always thought GarcĂ*a is the same as the Sigma six version since he drives the RHINO. Although he is a sniper also in Sigma Six.

So did the S6 character drive the RHINO as well? Where is that mentioned? If that's the case then making those two one and the same would make more sense.

I didn't see all of the episodes but the ones I saw he drove the RHINO. I think you are right blackrazor the RHINO fit in the ROCC.

The Sigma Six Long Shot was called 'Long Haul' in some pre-production designs (see below). No Idea if he was meant to have a different file name.
As an aside, Long Range I was named after Hasbro GI Joe Brand Manager Carl Fritz (1990-1993) and Long Range II was named after Hasbro Boys Toys Manager Alejandro Garcia (2003-2005) Last edited by Tyroc; 02-11-2015 at 11:17 AM.. Reason: misspelt Long Haul for Long Range |

Ooh he also is know as Long SHot? I've been calling him Long Haul anyway just to differentiate the two. It's funny how a few issues ago Hama had Long Range(Fitz) act as a Sniper. I wonder why he was even on that mission? The one with Burkhart.

Yeah I thought that too, I think he works better as a Sniper instead of an armor guy anyway. It was a good story, Hama is on a roll with the IDW ARAH series at the moment. It's a bit weird with the Blue Ninjas and Transformers under the tarps. I wish he'd stick with 'Special Missions' type stories.
