At work, when there's an issue with a building structurally and can't figure out how to support it, we use these things called "skyhooks".
Much like the Skyhawk's fairy dust, skyhooks magically keep a building standing. Not really, it's a running joke in the industry. When a structural engineer is asked "how do we support this", they answer "skyhooks".

Now, on the other hand, I believe that the Dragonfly and the Locust mini-copter can fly. Granted, the Dragonfly doesn't have a tail rotor, but according to the blueprints it has a "counter rotating turbine" at the end of the tail, which I'm guessing acts like a tail rotor. The Locust might be more of a stretch, but the fan it has in the tail is similar to the one on the HH-65 Dolphin. Of course, I don't imagine that the whole assembly would rotate on a "real" Locust like it does on the toy.

Hey, long time lurker of the forums, now new member. Was a Joe collector from 82 to about 87. Major Joe comic fan during that time also.
I've read a lot of the first 50 to 100 pages of this thread dealing with filecard information. Someone mentioned that Shockwave's secondary MOS was choir. Of course there are other Joes with similar intersting secondary MOS's like chef, chaplin's assistant, or personel clerk. Are there any Joes that you know of that have a secondary MOS or something in their file to indicate that they were in the military band? Reason for asking is that my uncle was in the army band (sax player) stationed at Fort Lennordwood (sp?), MO back in the 80s. Also (without having to research 1843 pages), I know that Gung-Ho's Marine tatoo isn't accurate due to copyright laws, so do you know if the patches and badges on the Joes are accurate and actually represent various specialties? I've often wondered why Lady Jaye wore a black hat with what looks like an Airborne badge or what exactly the patch on Dial-Tone's beret is suppose to be? Anyway, thanks in advance for any info or links to info. By the way there was a lot of discussion way earlier in this thread about birthplaces. I'm happy to say, I share birthplace with Chuckles!! Although his shirt makes him look more like he should be from Florida or Hawaii. Anyway, Arkansas' official Joe count was three!! Jason |

Welcome to the thread.
I can't think of anyone whose card specified being part of a military band. Crazy Legs was a trained pianist, Rock 'n Roll is a rocker, Shockwave was in the choir, but I think that's it. No other mentions of musical backgrounds.

Ha that's awesome! I just looked at Thunder's file card and sure enough his secondary mos is bandsman (drummer).
