Joe intergator would be Psyche Out and Rook. They'd be the main guys with Chuckles, Lady Jaye and Bullhorn as secondary.

I've finally come up with a working methodology for bringing the Vipers and Blueshirts together.

For the most part, the Blueshirts are the Army, well Vipers are the Special Forces. Some of the figures won't exist in my Joeverse (either because I don't like them; Heat-Vipers, Frag-Vipers; or because there's no place for them).

The TRU Nightwatch figures, for example, are not blueshirts but the "off-duty" (off-mission) outfits for the Night-Vipers.

The standard Blueshirt is the Viper's "off-duty" outfit. The Bazooka Trooper is my default infantry figure.

while I've always liked them I've always found an issue with those same Weapons specific infantry unit Vipers. SAW, FRAG and HEAT. Although together with an Incinerator or Shock-Viper they would make a pretty good Heavy Weapons team. Maybe a FLAK viper as well?

So out of the 40 Viper types which ones are you using or not using?

Viper
Tele-Viper
Strato-Viper
Air-Viper
Air-Viper Advanced Class
Motor-Viper
Techno-Viper
Ice-Viper
Astro-Viper
Secto-Viper
Hydro-Viper
Night-Viper
Star-Viper
Toxo-Viper
Gyro-Viper
Alley-Viper
FRAG-Viper
HEAT-Viper
Aero-Viper
Track-Viper
Laser-Viper
Range-Viper
Rock-Viper
SAW-Viper
Sludge-Vipers
FLAK-Viper
Heli-Viper
Ninja-Viper
Mega-Viper
Cyber-Viper
MONSTRO and BIO just don't count
Nitro-Viper (Never had a filecard)
Shadow-Viper(boo)
Sub-Viper
Fastback-Viper
Shock-Viper
Neo-Viper
Swamp=Viper
Sand-Vipers
Pit-Vipers
Medi-Vipers
Jungle-Vipers
Para-Viper
Nano-Viper
Elite-Viper
Desert-Viper
Aqua-Viper Officer
Terra-Viper
volcano-Viper
Hazard-Viper
Zombie-Viper

Not to mention some of the non-Viper named units:

HISS drivers
Stinger Drivers
Snow-Serpents
Eels
Lampreys
Sea-Slug
Imcinerators
Desert Scorpions
Night-Vultures
Air-Devils
CLAWS
Morays
Cobra Coils (Bikers)
Sand-Scorpions
Razor-Troopers
Snow-Wolf
Swamp-Rats
Night-Stalkers
Cobra Air Troopers (WOs that pilot Jet packs and light aircraft)
Cobra Paratrooper (I only have one But I could see them having such a unit on top of the Para-Vipers)
Cobra-Driver(Night watch looking HISS driver) ( I use this guy as my senior unnamed Cobra Officer)
Cobra pilot (I use them as Air troopers)
Cobra Vehicle Gunner (I use him as Cobra Command Sgt Major since he's gray)
Cobra Shock Trooper

What about these guys? Troopers or individuals?

Decimator
Vapor

Who did I miss? I loved Darkhawks take on the units and how they progressed, I just don't have a link at the moment.

An Air-Viper, which is the trooper with mask, won't be called an air-viper. That would just be the gear a blueshirt has when jumping out of a plan or using jetpack or whatever. It's not a seperate unit.

A lot of 'em will end up like that. The figure will be just a different load out for the basic blueshirt or viper.

Sea-Slug is going to be a unique character, same with Night Vulture, Decimator, Vapor.

Skycreeper is a Para-Viper leader. Sea-Slug will be a Lamprey commander. Night Vulture will be another Para-Viper.

Any of the RoC designs will be a seperate group, just not sure where they'll fall yet. Could eventually be the Coil, but not sure if won't use 'em as Viktor Khalikhan (from IDW)'s Noori Syndicate.

Snow Serpents, Eels, Desert Scorpions are part of the Viper corps.

Eventually, if have time and get it developed as far as would want, it'll all be laid out in a sourcebook.

My new fan fiction, once start publishing it, I want to include sourcebook sections, as well as do up a model for Fort Baxter/The Pit.

Parachuting or using a jet pack are quite specialised activities, or all all Cobra Troopers airborne qualified?

I could see there being different qualifications/badges one could obtain as a Cobra Trooper that would then help in moving into one of the more elite/more specialised branches.

I always saw Snow Serpents as being the elite of the elite amongst the Cobra army - they are Eels, para qualified and cold weather specialists too. I'd reckon that is at least a few rungs above a standard Viper.

I've always seen the Eels as being pretty elite, see this storyline from the UK Marvel run: COILS OF THE SERPENT

I was told to post here about filecards and who reads them and cares about back story? as in collector guides it talks about the character and not the toy and its variants,accessories,etc..
just seems odd to a toy collector

Depends whether you collect something for the pure physical design (or even just for the intrinsic value), or if you collect it because of what it represents and how it came to be created.

TBH I'm not a collector because of anything but my continuing (formerly childhood) love for the whole shebang: comic/filecards/backstory as well as the figures.

I am wonering if Mr. Hama got his idea for Destro from reading the book The Man in the Iron Mask? I am wondering if the Director of the G.I.Joe movie got the idea for Destro`s mask from the Fantastic 4 villian Doom?
