Sounds reasonable, who knows? (probably wikipedia ;) )
Back to code names, did we mention Dingo, or how's about Redback? |

I suffer from being too top heavy. Magnum was always my SEAL commander, but I think 0-5 and above should just be staff officers or Base HQ commanders and let the Majors and Capts. run the teams. With Magnum and Waters basically fulfilling the same role I'm not sure how I will break that up. Neither one looks likely to put on a wet suit. (I use a tiger Force Flint for Magnum with a head swap)

Yeah, umm. Im from Kansas, in a city that many mis-spell as Witchita. Before & After World War I our pro baseball team was the Wichita Witches. My mom's name is Dorothy, my dad's name was Frank (as in the creator of the books Lyman Frank Baum) and our last name is Ryman. You cant make this stuff up, so let the wordpuns begin.

The Oz is just a phoenetic slang for 'AUS"tralia and 'AUS'sie etc. Any resemblance to L Frank Baum's mythology is merely coincidental. The same way that the 'Ozzie' in Ozzie Osborne is derived more from the 'OS"borne than the Wizard of Oz. Anyway, if you want some Aussie code names, the aforementioned Dingo and Redback suggested by Lardman is good. There's also; Larrikin (a Jack the lad / Jokester type of person) Jackaroo (a Cattle Hand) Knock Back Brumby (Wild Horse) Walk About Banjo Stone Fish Razor Back (Wild Boar) Billabong Bingle (Car accident) Black Stump (Back of nowhere) Bush Man Chook (Chicken, also a term of endearment and friendship) Bogan or Yobbo (kinda like a Hick or Redneck) Hoon (kinda like a Hooligan) Longneck Two Up (Game played almost exclusively on Anzac Day) And a link http://alldownunder.com/australian-s...military-5.htm Last edited by Tyroc; 11-09-2012 at 11:45 PM.. |

So again I killed the chat... LOL. I guess I'll try to jump start the thread by asking about the news about Retaliation Lady Jaye being a Navy Seal? Any idea how they got Navy Seal out of Covert Ops? Maybe they got the idea from NCIS Los Angeles? Any thoughts?
I dont really like NCIS Los Angeles, it feels like Airwolf season 4, when they fired Belasario and sold it to Atlantis a Canadian Company. The dialogue was forced and the wrong lines were given to the wrong characters. Replies werent given any thought, felt like they were just reading lines. Also the name should have been "Shadow Fleet", instead of NCIS Los Angeles. Since thats what they do, a rogue unit that mostly does Covert Ops stuff.

Apparently, by the actress herself... Lady Jaye Is A Navy SEAL & More From Adrianne Palicki - GI Joe News I dont like the idea, it's like the Roadblock ninja thing, I dont like that either. Now days its not about having personalities, now it's all about having hot bodies and action and trying to do things with wires and green screen. Oooo & Awe-ing the audience by making you feel there, so that the audience is blown away, while dropping what made the character interesting and loved. I'll watch the movie, and probably own it. But I wont be entirely entertained. It would be nice to see how some use the Retaliation figures in their Joe'verse and if anyone uses her as a Navy Seal. I'm thinking of possibly using her as Patchwork, a medic.

She's Mayday in my verse as well.
I said in that thread that I think it's meant for name association. SEaLs are pretty well known nowadays thanks to Act of Valor, Osama Bin Laden, video games, etc.. so for the general movie going public it provides a frame of reference. SEaLs = bad-ass, Lady Jaye = SEaL, Lady Jaye = bad-ass |

SEAL or not, She's wearing a camo pattern (AOR1) that's only authorized for SEALs, SWCCs and their support personnel.
