I've always been a little hesitant to "promote/reclassify" guys like Rampart, Topside, Cutter, and Deep-Six. Hasbro has never mentioned them as graduates of BUD/S, and I feel like it's a bit helpful to keep those guys around to to act as SWCC/Insertion for the SEALs, and just to act as sailors for the Joe's naval vessels. That's just me. So, here's a revised list of SEALs with a few new characters... SEALs 1. Torpedo 2. Wet-Suit 3. Shipwreck 4. Tracker 5. Wet-Down 6. Depth-Charge 7. Link Talbot - Code name: Orca 8. Night-Fox 9. Tracker 10. Mariner 11. Harpoon 12. New Character: Officer - Kraken 13. New Character: Officer - Trident 14. New Character: Riptide 15. New Character: Typhoon 16. New Character: Bullfrog

I don't mean to quibble at all, because this article makes a lot of sense. However, I think we need to be clear, that this ranking system is based on JSOC funding/mission, and not SOCOM or USASOC ranking.
SOCOM/USASOC Ranking would be a little more like what we've discussed before. In terms of training, selection, funding, mission profiles, capabilities, and OpTempo 1. Delta/DevGru/ISA/24th Special Tactics Squadron 2. Special Forces/SEALS/MARSOC 3. 75th Ranger Regiment/160th SOAR/USAF PJ's/ USAF CC's 4. Civil Affairs/SWCC/PsyOps Now on to the fun stuff- My idea about the Joe Delta Force (or Special Forces as I refer to them) is more inline with your Ranger/ LRRP Team and vice versa (size wise): SF: Claymore, Falcon, Flint, Duke, Sgt Stone, Snake Eyes and Breaker. These are all the Joes who are either referred to as Special Forces or have graduated from SF training according to their filecards. I added Breaker beacause of his work on Project Gamma. Ranger/ LRRP: Stalker, Alpine, Dial Tone, Beach Head, Sneak Peek, Tunnel Rat, Repeater, Recoil, Sidetrack, Dart, Rampage. Last edited by Topside; 11-07-2012 at 11:23 PM.. |

I dont see it as you quibbling. But, just so we're clear- The way I read the article it says that the Tier System is not used as a ranking of a unit's awesome factor but simply to determine the amount of funding they receive. It says right in the article "Quite often a specific tier status is believed to be synonymous with the ranking of a SOF unit above others; which is false."
Now onto the fun stuff- My idea about the Joe Delta Force (or Special Forces as I refer to them) is more inline with your Ranger/ LRRP Team and vice versa: SF: Claymore, Falcon, Flint, Duke, Sgt Stone, Snake Eyes and Breaker. These are all the Joes who are either referred to as Special Forces or have graduated from SF training according to their filecards. I added Breaker beacause of his work on Project Gamma. Ranger/ LRRP: Stalker, Beach Head, The thing is, I've already got a custom Special Forces team that was painted my Marine Deadpool. It's a really cool collection of Green Berets (I'll include some pics as examples). This Joe Delta Team has a somewhat different mission focus. The Delta team will have different camo (multicam).

This is an excellent suggestion, and I really appreciate it. Thank you.

I also remember you making Cool-Breeze a Marine which I use Renegades Ripcord following your example.

Who is in your SF team so we can leave them out? I know there was a reason for Psyche -Out bring there and Chuckles but I don't remember.

Psyche-Out is there as the PsyOps liason to SF Chuckles is there because CIA/SAD often works with SF and Delta and anyone else. I just included those pictures to remind everybody what I was talking about.

I think Dial-Tone was officially designated as SF "Green Beret" at the 2011 Joe Con, so that might work instead of Breaker. He was, but I'm using Dial Tone on my Ranger team (see edit above)
The thing is, I've already got a custom Special Forces team that was painted my Marine Deadpool. It's a really cool collection of Green Berets (I'll include some pics as examples). I remember these guys. You and MD did some great work putting that together- excited to see what you come up with this time. This Joe Delta Team has a somewhat different mission focus. The Delta team will have different camo (multicam). Understood. |
