Yeah Loose is correct. In the Action Force Battle Files, which were printed in the Marvel Comics in England (and can be viewed at BloodfortheBaron.com), it gives some pretty extensive bios for a lot of the Joe team. Obviously, not all of them fit into the American version of G.I. Joe, however, there are a number of them that do not contradict the American version and seem to make a lot of sense. Hawk being from Delta Force and Spirit being SF are two of the details that I think work well. It's not exactly the American cannon, but considering it was published by Marvel I think it's at least arguable.

Well eventually when you have enough version BH you could use one as the Kiwi maybe change the codename to Something good or Sgt.Wayne. this what ive done with Digger and Recondo. I already repuposed Retaliation Beachhead as Sneak Peek, but maybe if they make the 1993 Beachhead ill make him the action force version.

Yay! It's started.... (before long I'll also be able to persuade you all that Hit and Run, Footloose, Flint and Outback were all born in the UK and members of the SAS (UK for the first 3, Australian SASR for Outback)) ;)
The dossiers contain lots of detail (even if they don't agree with the US versions). PROFILES E.g. Beach Head's has details of his time spent in Vietnam with the NZSAS, Footloose and Hit and Run's have details of the Falklands, Oman, NI, etc. Does anyone know who was responsible for writing them? I remember reading somewhere the praise given to the UK Marvel team for the way they wrote and wove the UK/Worldwide storylines into reprints of the original Marvel run, I'll do some digging. |

Sorry up front if this has been covered. My red Jinx from SDCC just came and the filecard lists her name as classified, but farther down she's referred to as Kim Arashikage. I know that is her name in Retaliation and also I believe that it shows up in one of the comics (IDW maybe?). Do you guys take that as Jinx is her code name, Kim Arashikage is just an alias that she uses, and her real birthname is still classified? Or do you think Kim Arashikage is her real birthname and this is just a mistake on the filecard?
Also, what do you guys think about Zarana's real name? In the Dreadknok Declassified series (I've read the synopsis on yojoe.com not the actual comic) she's listed as Zoe and Zander is given the name Zachary. Are these possible real first names or just fake identities assumed while they were in the orphanage? That whole series is told from the perspective of Zartan's memories, so maybe he is so messed up now that he has lost any memory of their real names. Anyone who's read the series have any thoughts on this? |

Anyone who's read the series have any thoughts on this? Pretty sure, the filecard is in error. Kimi Arashikage seems to be her legit name. After all, she is Storm Shadow's cousin in almost every continuity except IDW and Arashikage is Storm Shadow in Japanese. In regards to Dreadnoks Declassified, the first issue depicts a very young Zartan pestering his father 'Zeke' a Hollywood SFX man and low budget producer. After accidentally cutting him, Zeke sends young Zartan out to his mother 'Melanie' who's busy rehearsing lines with another actress. His mother also calls a baby Zandar 'Zachary'. Could be Zartan's memories or a classic case of the 'Unreliable Narrator' In any case, it's probably all moot as neither Larry Hama or IDW in general consider anything by DDP as cannon. Personally I like the mystery of not knowing Zartan et al's real names. |

Its pretty much accepted Jinx is Kim Arashikage and no one proofreads filecards.
Its hard to accept Dresdnoks declassified as canon. I liked the series a lot but it doesn't exactly fit. Although it is as good a story as any since it was never addressed in the Marvel run.

Funny you should mention this, I'm just re-reading the DDP stuff at the moment.
