I think it would almost have to be a Con set. Hasbro doesn't seem too interested in resurrecting these old Sub-Teams, but the Club has done a good job of bringing back these fan-favorites like the Oktober Guard and Claymore. Skypatrol would be awesome, especially if they did a modern update and maybe added a few old favorites to the roster...
So, here might be a fun disscussion. If you were to design a Skypatrol set for next year's Con, how would you do it: who would be on the roster? What would they look like? I'll start Team Leader - Eagle Owl (O-3) - New Character Team NCO - Skydive (O-8) Airborne - Rigger/Medic Airwave - Comms Altitude - Recon/Combat Artist Drop Zone - 18B/Heavy Weapons Static Line - EOD/Demo Free Fall - Ranger Sky Mate - AUS SAS Airborne (v1) - Infantry Ripcord (v2) - Special Forces Ripcord (v1) -Infantry Crazy Legs - Ranger And they would need to look a little like this I want Cobra La to be movie accurate, but Sky Patrol I think would look good in a black and grey color scheme. Think something like Night Force colors, only a bit more black. Practical? No, but I think that would be a cool set. |

Is thst you Airwave? I use the same head for mine.
Generally its a mix if its a con set. So the six members plus 9 cobras. I would use skycreeper and 4 Air Devils and 4 Night Vultures. Or either create a new cobra unit for 2 of those spots or use Abutre Negro and Escorpio Voador as the two pack special. (Brazil had Sky patrol characters but only those two werecompletely different characters and kitbashes) Although I tend to put all my airborne guys together in an expanded Sky Patrol. O -3 Skydive (I promoted him why Altitude outranked him I'll never get) O-3 Countdown as an Air liaison officer (I use Rollbar straight up) O-2 Barrel Roll ( XO) E-9 Altitude E-8 Dropzone E-8 Airwave E-8 Starduster E-7 Airborne (v1) E-7 Sgt Six (v2 Airborne I use an extra Rollbar with a duke head) E-7 Static-line (Cancelled Ripcord) E-6 Manleh E-6 Freefall E-6 Ripcord E-6 Sneak peak (RETALIATION 3pack Beachhead) E-5 Crazylegs I would add Cloudburst and Skymate if they came modern era. I'd like the original 6 along with Freefall, Crazy Legs, and ARAH Ripcord. They'd come with an Osprey (big enough to hold all 9) to HALO jump from. The enemy would be Golobulus, Pythona, a new Nemesis Enforcer, and a few Royal Guards. The comic that would come with the set would be about plane of diplomats that was shot down on a sight seeing tour over Mt Everest. With terrible weather closing in and making any conventional rescue attempts impossible, it's up to Sky Patrol to make the dangerous jump to find and extract the survivors before Cobra La does!

So, let's see...
this brings my roster to: 17 Team Leader - Eagle Owl (O-3) - New Character Team NCO - Skydive (O-8) Airborne - Rigger/Medic Airwave - Comms Altitude - Recon/Combat Artist Drop Zone - 18B/Heavy Weapons Static Line - EOD/Demo Free Fall - Ranger Sky Mate - AUS SAS Airborne (v1) - Infantry Ripcord (v2) - Special Forces Ripcord (v1) -Infantry Crazy Legs - Ranger Cloudburst - Infantry Starduster - Ranger Barrel Roll - USAF PJ/Sniper Spirit - Special Forces NCO Maybe Flint could round the team out to 18 - he was once released as a HALO specialist.

I hear you on the Cobra-La thing. I know they're not popular with alot of Joe fans, but I was digging them when I watched the movie as a kid and I'm warming back up to them now. Zombies, mutants, and over powered villans make it more fun for me. I like my Joes to overcome long odds. |

Yeah Pythona is pulling away in my Top 10 never had a figure poll. I guess I would buy her if it made it to retail but I would be weary of a Cobra la themed set even if was versus Tiger Force. (But I was never a huge Tiger force fan. If the completely dropped the yellow I'd be all over it.)

http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...haracters.html Tiger Force is one of my favorite parts of Joe, but I agree with you about the yellow. I can't bring myself to change the originals, but all of the custom stuff I'm make for Tiger Force I've been using a lot of browns, greens, and blacks to try to match the 25th TF Duke and Flint. I'm using some yellow (especially on Tripwire), but I'm doing my best to mute it a little. The custom TF figures that I got from Griff stay pretty true to the original versions, but I think the oranges and yellows that he used really work and fit in well. I don't have any vehicles yet, but if I do customize some, I'm staying completely away from yellow on those. |

He was never listed as Special Forces although the UK version may have him as a green beret like they have Hawk as Delta Force.

Pythona was the first person I thought of when I responded to your thread. I saw alot of good suggestions there. I can't believe she's never been made. She was a major character in the 87 movie. It took a while but we finally got Big Lob, so maybe she's in the cards sometime in the future.
