My existing stuff, that never finished, is the basics.
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...o-e-verse.html Just take out the Joe, Cobra references and other Joe specific things and have an idea. The new direction will allow more freedom.

Should I call my Colton equivalent: Alpha or Merlin?
If go with Alpha, then his old adventuring teammates will be other greek letters: Delta, Sigma, Epsilon, Beta, Gamma, Omega, etc.. Taskforce: ???? Right now it's Taskforce: Dagger, Direct Action Group "The Dagger Teams".

I guess I'm more partial to Alpha. What's wrong with Taskforce Dagger?

Nice interview Troy.
I like the Dagger teams, kinda like the way the SAS call their members 'blades'. I call the IDW Firewall character, 'Den Mother' as she seems to act like that. I bet if it were back in the 80's, Hasbro would have made an ops officer and called him "Major Domo" or something cheesy. I'll have to get back to you on SAS names but if you want Australian SAS then off the top of my head; Larrikin Brumby (Australian wild horse) Docker Stone Fish Walk About (an Aboriginal term, would suit a tracker) Bogan Magpie |

Nothings wrong with Taskforce: Dagger, but it doesn't sound very official like or government-y. Dagger is the nickname.
As Gen. Cody, aka Alpha, says "We are the dagger aimed at the enemies of freedom".

I think like what is currently in place it should go by a number designation like Task Force 121 and then rotate it's name for every new adventure/mission/story. Like when human rights groups get wind of their presence and techniques. But everyone on the inside still calls them TF Dagger.
Task Force 121 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia These almost seem just like the Joes.

Yeah, but my Taskforce is completely off the books with no connection to the Government, barely one anyways. Only 4 people know of it's existence.
I suppose I could just have the President refer to it as the Direct Action Group since there's really no official record of it's existence.

Loose, I have to agree that TF 121 sounds a lot like the Joes. That's the concept I've been mulling over for a while now-a small team of elite operators who can go anywhere and perform specialized missions.

Thats what my Dagger Teams are going to be.
Self-sufficient, get-in, get-out. Totally off the books, no back-up. I have 100 members total, including support staff.

They still need some military support, otherwise its more like secret agents then military. I could see cobra having a team like that. But just to have access to equipment and arms and money. I guess it coulb be like mission impossible.
