Yeah, the repainted VAMP does look good. In fact, I think all the vehicles, with the exception of the motorcycles, look very nice. And, I'm glad that the Maine boys' Ripsaw will get immortalized in plastic form, even if it's just a remolded HISS Scout.

The new lack of articulation doesn't bode well for the line. It means they're really trying to cut costs. If the film doesn't boost sales, we might see a return of the late 90s in figure quality.

I'm wondering if there are some costs associated with Paramount they are trying to offset. It seems all the movie line vehicle figures have this articulation Loss. For the most part I don't care since It's just another Duke, Snake-Eyes, CC. But for Clutch and the Ninja 4x4 driver it hurts. I'm guessing we'll be seeing a single carded Flint at some Wave 2 or 3? Still what I don't understand is why not just use an existing mold?

But I cant tell if I need 2 or 3 of them to support my Urban Operations A-Team, codenamed: Steel Brigade. Guess that depends on if the back is cluttered with junk, (the snow cat missle launcher rack) or if I can fit a trooper or 2 back there. Yeah, I was excited about Clutch and the Ninja Combat Cruiser driver how they have the looks of PMC. But then when i looked closer at the leg articulation, I got sad. Now I guess they will join the ranks of the "True Heroes" PMC box. The AWE Striker is a bit off with the missle launcher, but it will still work. Im using it for Mega-Marines Squad, under 1st Platoon of Sgt Slaughter & Lt Torpedo. Im trying to find a moniker for 1st Platoon. Any Suggestions? My breakdown of Squads for 1st Platoon: -1st Squad Mega Marines (Gung-Ho, Leatherneck, Wetsuit, Mirage and Snake Doc [Lincoln Talbot]) + Torpedo -2nd Squad Renegades (Mercer, Red Dog, Taurus, Barbecue and Blast Off) + Sgt Slaughter -3rd Squad Marauders (Lowlight, Spirit, Footloose, Clutch and Bullhorn) + Mutt I did rotate some of the personel around to make it 5 troops + 1 command/staff per "Squad". I augmented this Platoon with Torpedo, Leatherneck, Wetsuit, Snake Doc and Bullhorn. I thought they seemed to keep the amphibious nature of this Platoon intact. I wanted Torpedo to lead this unit rather than Falcon, because I thought Falcon would be a better Tiger Force 18A. Planned or current Vehicles for 1st Platoon: -1st Squad: 3 AWE Strikers -2nd Squad: 1 (Dont know what Sgt Slaughter will utilize yet... LAV, or the Warthog, but some Amphibious vehicle, if not he can always ride on the back of the...) 1 Snowcat (Amphibious) 3 Armadillos -3rd Squad: VAMP 1500 (original Vamp) VAMP 4500 (Walmart generic armored vehicle) I know this isnt quite perfect to the real world. But its what I got in my Joe-verse and my knowledge of what small part of the military I was exposed to... And knowing is half the battle, GI JOE.

Really the cut articulation on the non-ninjas don't really bother me as much as the vehicle drivers being....statues by comparison
those three packs are getting bought on first sight holy dang. hope we get another one with an updated Shipwreck or something. |

I'm really looking forward to these vehicles! Most of them look awesome! I just hope they'll be easy to find at stores.
The lack of articulation on the drivers doesn't bother me, since I'll be giving them to my son and replacing them with ARAH style custom drivers.

I have a feeling that Hasbro has to pay Mattel some licensing fee for using the Rock's likeness. Even though he's only making rare appearances he's still under the WWE banner in terms of toys and games and as such under a Mattel exclusive.
