Thanks for your input guys. Yeah, Im planning to only use Rapid Fire, having him in charge of NIGHT FORCE, a Ranger Chalk with the Ranger guys Stalker and Recoil (LRRP). With the original Night Force guys Outback, Sneakpeek, Repeater, Spearhead, Hit & Run and Crazylegs. Then 2 of the guys in Stalkers unit not included yet, Ambush, Coolbreeze. Acting Night Force Medic, even tho he was in Tiger Force, I changed Lifeline over because he just rode in the Tomahawk all the time and just seemed like a good plan.
Here's hopefully how its shaping up: (dont want to set in stone everyone yet). C-Team-ish -Hawk, Group Cmdr -Duke, Field Cmdr -Flint, XO -Beachhead, Top Shirt -Sparks, Comms -Crankcase, Driver B-Teams-ish -B-01 Support/Training/Supply: Courage CO/Psyche Out XO -B-02 EOD/Hazmat: Doc ?CO/Airtight ?XO or PltSgt A-Team/Platoon CO/XO or Plt Sgt/Medics: -Tiger Force (All-Around): LT Torpedo/WO Scarlett/Snake Doc -Night Force (Air Assault/Rangers): Rapid Fire/MSg Stalker/Lifeline -Steel Brigade (Urban Ops): Bullet Proof/WO Chuckles/Stretcher -Sky Patrol (Military Freefall): Slipstream/WO Sky Dive/Rigger (Sgt Six Airborne II) -Slaughter's Marauders (Amphibious Ops): Falcon/GSgt Slaughter/Spirit

I was having Rapid Fire as Airborne Commander originally, but I have since changed that. I promoted Sky-Dive to Captain with Barrel-Roll as his XO.
I moved Rapid-Fire as Fast Attack Commander/XO under Gen Rey. THey basically run the Mech Recon Units, which are the Wheel vehicles. Sort of function as the Cavalry units for either the Tanks or infantry, and can outflank opposing forces. However, since the Joes are hardly ever deployed in that manner, they are more of a Commando Raider force. THey burn deep into enemy territory and blow up as much shit as possible and then get the hell out of Dodge. Super Trooper is part of this force as well. Talon sounds like a great Codename, but so far I still refer to him as Super Trooper or Lt Latimer.

Here's a VERY rough sample of my Sabre Squadron set up. Still have a long way to go with file names, skill sets and making sure all the units are correct etc. I thought I had finished the Command and Ground Combat Elements but decided to do an overhaul.
An appendix with name usage (cartoon, comic only characters and international Joes) will follow. As usual, every time I think I'm happy with it, something in this thread or Zulu's makes me go back to square one. Squadron Last edited by Tyroc; 12-15-2011 at 11:29 AM.. |

I'm still not sure if I want to set up permenant squads or leave it per-mission.
I'm leaning towards squads. My Joes are a mix of US forces, foreign forces and male and female all working together. The set-up behind how my Joint Operations Element - Taskforce Omega means that they aren't directly answerable to the UN or the US DoD. They're independent, so they can pull personal from where they want, and they operate worldwide.

I know this was talked about many pages ago, but I couldnt find it in search all that well. What did we agree on for Rapid Fire and Super Trooper, were they more geared for Ranger's or Green Beret's?
I'm planning to put Rapid Fire in command of Night Force, and model it after a Ranger Chalk. (using Sgt Stone's green camo uniform as Rapid Fire). |

Agreed! I don't use Super Trooper at all. I had a figure at one time but he was sacrificed to the greater good of customizing, and Rapid Fire is now a character called Raider assigned to the Mega Narines and is awaiting a new paint job!

The set-up behind how my Joint Operations Element - Taskforce Omega means that they aren't directly answerable to the UN or the US DoD. They're independent, so they can pull personal from where they want, and they operate worldwide. A single individual is known as a JO (Joint Operator), pronounced "Joe". Individuals from various branches operating together as a squad are known as JOES (Joint Operators, Experts, & Specialists). Normally led by a senior sergeant or chief petty officer, the squad may have officers attached as advisors or field specialists. A JOP (Joint Operating Platoon) is a mixed platoon of 2-5 non-mixed squads of SEALs, Rangers, Special Forces, CCTs, PJs, Marines or other JOES. It is normally led by a Captain or SEAL Lieutenant. A JOT (Joint Operating Troop) is a mixed troop of 2-5 non-mixed platoons or teams: SEAL platoon, Ranger platoon, SFOD-A, Marine Special Ops Team (MSOT), Special Tactics Team. It is normally led by a Major or SEAL Lt Commander. A JOS (Joint Operating Squadron) is a mixed squadron of 2-5 non-mixed companies or troops: SEAL Troop, Ranger Company, SFOD-B, MSOC, Special Tactics Detachment, Special Boat Detachment. It is typically led by a Lt Colonel or SEAL Commander. A JOB (Joint Operating Brigade) is a large mixed unit of non-mixed infantry battalions or squadrons, various aircraft squadrons, and/or small naval vessels: SEAL Team, Special Boat Team, Ranger Battalion, SFOD-C, MSOB, Special Tactics Squadron, FFG, DDG, SSN. It is normally led by a general or flag officer. A JOF (Joint Operating Force) is the largest mixed group of non-mixed infantry brigades, regiments or groups, aviation wings, and/or naval strike groups. It is normally led by a senior general or flag officer. JOCOM (Joint Operating COMmand) is the top headquarters, a Unified Combatant Command led by a four-star officer, currently held by General Joe Colton. *Note: This of course represents by fanfic organization, not my collection, which is obviously much smaller.
