Something tells me those accessories will end up on another figure down the road (at least I hope so).
As for BR, I was hoping for the blue version, but I also like these colors. The helmet is too gimicky and I'll scrap that and the glider. He'll make a decent desert sniper or officer or perhaps a CTT. Would've been cool had they done Bombstrike along with him. Man, there's so many cool characters that they could have chosen from the obscure list: like Crosshairs and Bombstrike and Big Ben. |

So they announced that Barrel Roll is the next subscription figure.Thought I'd see some comments in here.
Personally, I'm not crazy about their parts/ color choices and will most likely just stick with my re-purposed Air Raid and Target Glider as my default Barrel Roll. Unrelated- I found some RoC Para Vipers the other day. These things are awesome compared to the 25th. It's amazing how color choice can make or break a figure. I've stockpiled 2 dozen of the 25th version with plans to dye them but now I'm thinking it might just be easier to hunt down the same quantity in the RoC colors. If only they had made the 25th version Cobra Blue instead of purple. Also found some RIA Ripcords. I love the top feed machine gun he comes with. That thing is badass. Reminds me of the gun one of the snow Joes came with back in the day. I might have an extra ROC Para Viper. I'll check when I get home. It seems like I picked one more up on clearance from Khol's. Maybe we could do a trade if you've got different clearance ROC stuff in your area then I do! |

That's pretty accurate. Army medics and Navy corpsmen didn't carry weapons in WWI. In WWII, Army medics in Europe were unarmed, and the Germans rarely singled them out as targets. In fact, there are many stories of medics on both side aiding each other's wounded. For Navy corpsmen serving in the Pacific, it was a different story. The Japanese often targeted them, as it lowered morale and, obviously, prevented the wounded from getting help. Corpsmen had to cover the Red Crosses on their helmets, remove their armbands, and arm themselves with .45s, at least. By Vietnam, medics and corpsmen were issued .45s, and later took M-16s from the wounded or dead. Some even carried grenades as a form of "preventative medicine". Also, they stopped wearing any identifying insignia. Of the two, I always thought it made more sense for Doc to be the pacifist. However, as stoked as I am to finally have a 30th Lifeline, I think the M4 is an odd choice to give him, since he has to carry his med kit in 1 hand and shoot the rifle with the other. I'll probably give mine a P90 PDW I got from Marauder John's.
Bear in mind that I'm not military myself and I'm relating a story that was told to me, but that's how I understood it to work for him anyway. |

They need to make a Big Ben figure.

I'm planning on using the Marauders Falcon as Big Ben. The figure looks good but doesn't scream Special Forces. Looks more like UN peacekeeper. But I could change my mind later.
I'm digging Barrel-Roll though. He looks like they used just the right part combination so nothing looks out of proportion. TheGame you already know what the leaked list is right? Whoses still missing? TNT; Cover-Girl; Big Boa + 1 more and then the 13th Bonus figure. I just got a TNT figure not too long ago that is great, I always loved BiG Boa, but I wish he was getting an update. Maybe a new look? IDW Big Boa was a little boring, but a Caucasian version of Night-Adder wouldn't be bad, although we'll see. It'd be sort of cheesy if they did that, but I think they would look good together. I wonder how the filecards will turn out?

Yes they do. He's one of the few examples of a character that has great credentials on the file card and a great figure. Usually you get a guy with an awsome bio, but a silly uniform or the other way around.
I also LOVE the Oktober Guard. I wish we could get more of the Guard. I've got most of the O-ring versions, I just wish we could get more in the new style. That and a Hind helicopter. And a Soviet BMP. And a MiG-28 for my Skystriker to fight. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Hasbro isn't running their company to accomodate my collection, so I'll just have to improvise with stuff from True Heros and BBI until I own the company. |

I was thinking SAS when first saw him. Not a bad use for him.

I wonder how the filecards will turn out? Jinx is not what I was wanting, but this new one is really growing on me. I think Troy pointed out that the sword on the hip is a bit iffy. I agree with that, but the rest of the figure is very good in my opinion. I'm also liking Iron Klaw. I don't know his backstory, but the figure makes me think he'd make a good officer for Hydra's troops. I don't normally put very many superheros in with the Joes, but after seeing Captain America, I'm really liking the idea of working Hydra in as an ally of Cobra. The rest of the list is good, but nothing I couldn't live without if I had to. Now if Big Boa or Cover Girl come out looking fantastic, then I may have to subscribe. |

Let's be honest here gentlemen, no matter what they do with the filecards, we'll just end up making our own anyway.
If I had to guess though, I think they'll be closer to ROC then anything. The reason being is that some of these characters have been released in multiple eras, so rather than trying to mix and match filecard styles from the 80's, 90's, and 00's, they'll just go with something uniform and generic like the ROC style. |

The Club generally does decent with the filecards. I think they'll be close to what the Club has done for Dial-Tone and the Mission Brazil figures.
Which means more story then fact, but much better then RoC/PoC/30th and whatever Hasbro passes off as a filecard nowadays.
