Loose,
What do you think of Mercer aka Mercenary? I'm liking the Renegades. Falcon will make a good new character. The others I'm "meh" about. Could care less about the 'Noks.

I haven't seen a good pic of Falcon yet.
Mercer looks like he should although I like my measly head swap on an Arctic Heavy Machine gunner just as much. I like how Taurus looks and I like the size of RedDog, but too much white. The rest of the Joes are sort of lame. I never bought a single Marauders figure before. Drednoks I have mix feelings too. Zanya is a cool addition Burnout looks good as does RoadPig Zandar looks like a perfect 25th version I only wish it were a POC version and not Pink! Thrasher looks weak Gnawghyde looks weaker and Zanzibar looks plain dumb But I will get all of them. I'm sort of happy it isn't an army builder set, as that will save me money. I just wish instead of Marauders we got other missing figs. Even ones I don't care for like SCOOP! Big Lob would have been awesome. Add Grid-Iron and Harball and maybe do a sport themed set, with Big Lob. Or they could have had Big Ben and Skymate and a mystery SAS character to make it set inthe Outback or something. I think I convinced myself I will make Falcon into Big Ben, but we'll see.

Has no one else thought it odd that an Air Force pilot was flying a Navy fighter? Ace is listed as a Captain USAF and the Striker is obviously a F14 Tomcat variant.
The thought just got me thinking the other day, and I had to go back to make sure Ace was an USAF pilot. |

Of course, I suppose it doesn't matter and there is probably no real answer why. It was just something I noticed. Personally, I am surpised that they didn't add a navy pilot, considering how popular Top Gun was at the time. |

None? Keel-Haul is a Pilot, and I always wondered about Dog-Fight, like if he's Army for some reason.
But yeah Ace, Slipstream, Payload, COuntdown, Barrel-Roll?, Ghost-Rider, Tomahawk, Maverick, Skystriker, Air-Raid?

Well talking about pilots, yeah Keelhaul is a Navy fighter pilot. Also, I used Major Altitude as a Navy helicopter pilot, with that anchor on his belt. Since his waist was made from Keel Haul's, even thou his filecard says army.
Funny how both Altitude's had Major imbeded in their names, ie: Sergeant Major Altitude (Sky Patrol), and Major Altitude (Battle Copter WO-2).

Mr. Hardy flies rotor AND fixed. That makes him an Army pilot, ie: not a USAF pilot.
And the Skystriker is not necessarily a Navy fighter. In the same way that the Marines' Super Cobras and Hueys are a far cry from the Army's earlier versions of those airframes, the Skystriker could be one of the few proposed upgrades to the F-14 that the Navy rejected (search ST-21 and ASF-14). It would have been the perfect opportunity for Grumman to cut some losses, and for GI Joe to acquire a proven airframe "under the radar" - one that would be underestimated to be a plain F-14. Speaking of ST-21, the latest iteration of the Skystriker XP-14F is now called the Skystriker XP-21F. It kind of reinforces my theory.
