The scaled down version is almost done. Just need to add a few support personnel and ratify my usage of characters index.
Here's a quick outline. I'll be interested in any comments...
In my verse, the now disbanded SOCJFCOM (Special Operations Command Joint Forces Command) was never disbanded but was firstly absorbed into JSOC and then evolved into the "Joint Organization and Equipment Special Operations Command" or JOESOC.
JOESOC exists as a subordinate of SOCOM and has national level Tier 1 special mission units organised and equioed to conquer specific threats.
The Joes are the largest of these SMU's, the others being SK1 Omega (if we ever get those figures) and maybe Eagle Force (if I ever make my customs).
Anyway, the Joes have a heavily modified Table of Organization and Equipment that borrows heavily from the USMC and SAS.
It is a group sized unit (about the size of Delta) and is organized like a baby USMC Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).
It has a
Command Element (CE)
- Command Section led by Hawk (O6)
- A HQ section (J1, J2, J3, J4, J6) etc
- A small platoon sized detachment of augmentees from the CIA's National Clandestine Service that gives them a limited but legal ability to conduct clandestine Operations. This is Night Force and is led by Psyche Out
- an Advanced Force Operations company (Ghost Force)
Ground Combat Element (GCE)
Is based around the Sabre Battalion. Organized like the SAS, the BN has 4 Operational Squadrons, a CRW Wing and a Reserve Squadron.
The Battalion is as follows
- Battalion HQ section (similar to a SFOD-C)
- a Chemical Recon Detachment (Jokingly dubbed "Eco Warriors")
- a SIGINT / EW platoon like a SOT-A (jokingly dubbed "Sonic Fighters")
- Squadrons A, B, D and G
each squadron has a small HQ element (like a SFOD-B), 2 two man sniper teams and 4 16 man troops (platoons) that are broken down into 4 man 'bricks'. Each troop specializes in a different insertion method
Air Troop - Experts in MFF, Airborne Helo insertion and one troop specializes in glider / micro lite insertion.
Amphibious Troops - Experts in Combat Diving, use of Small Craft etc
Mobility Troop - Experts in Fast Attack Vehicles, Desert Warfare and Land Navigation / Ruck
Mountain Troop - Experts in Arctic Warfare, Assault Climbing and Technical Mountaineering.
There is a Counter Revolutionary Warfare (CRW) Wing which has two small teams; a Tactical Assault and an Off-shore Assault Troop. The Offshore Assault Troop also has a small USCG LEDET detachment led by Cutter
R Squadron is the reserve component and is made up of ex Joes and Greenshirts (STEEL Squadron)
The GCE is reinforced by Ground Reinforcement Troops (Green Shirts) made up of Trainees and veteran Joes. They provide Combat support and rarely partake in DA missions. The GCE reinforcement element has;
a Field Artillery Battery
a Low Altitude Air Defense (LAAD) Platoon
a Tank Platoon (4 x MOBATs)
a Combat Engineer Platoon
a Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Platoon (LAV's)
an Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) Platoon (Warthogs)
a TOW Platoon
The Aviation Combat Element (ACE) is a reinforced Medium Helicopter Squadron and has;
- HQ section
x 12 Medium Helicopters (Tomahawk / Blackhawks)
x 6 XH-1 Dragonhawks
x 4 Heavy Lift Chinook Helicopters
x 6 Sky Strikers
x 2 C-130 Refueler / Transport Planes (if I can get the TRU Heroes over here)
an Air Control Group detachment
an AVN Logistics detachment
The Logistical Combat Element
- HQ section
- Service Platoon
- Supply & Distribution Platoon
- Maintenance Platoon
- Medical Services Platoon
- MI Platoon
- MP Platoon
- a Base HQ Recapture Tactics Platoon (PITT Commandos)

I forgot to add the Advanced Force Operations Squadron is the Joe version of the USAISA. Their mission is to go into possible strike locations, ahead of the main force, they plan operations, map out areas, ex filtration points, enemy size, weapons, etc.
They are made up of Joes with foreign backgrounds or those with expertise in languages (I get to use all the International Joes)
and is broken down into;
- a HQ element
- an Exploitation Troop of HUMINT collectors and Interrogators who create Safe houses, establish networks etc.
- a SIGINT / Surveillance Troop that makes sure the Cobra guys really are Cobra guys and pinpoint locations etc
- a Special Reconnaissance (SR) Troop, they perform Hydro-graphic / Topographic surveys, pathfinding, location of LZ's and DZ's, storing of weapons caches
- a UAV platoon (using some CORPS gliders I picked up cheap)
These guys do not engage in any DA missions but can do so in extremis. Their whole purpose is to sneak in, collect intel and sneak out. This way, Joes from the Sabre BN are not wasted spending days on OPs that might not work pan out.

Nice Tyroc. Now I'd love to see the break down of the units, or an abriged version with who commands which units/squadrons.
But I'd love just the ABCD Squadrons broken down from the Sabre Battalion as that is the bread and butter right. I like the sea control ship idea. The Flagg has to be something smaller to be realistic.

When the Joe team became a rebel force after Cobra manipulated the space time contium to create the Cobra Empire, Bruce kept his identity secret, but planted clues in Joe intel sources that allowed the team to discover hidden caches of Batgear, such as Batmobiles and Batwings. More importantly, it allowed the Joe team access to the Batcomputer and Justice Legue network. This allowed The Joe team to fight Cobra's Temporal Engineering, but the Time/Space wars destabilized reality, causing a hunt for magical forces to correct the problem that Science created.
Batman continued to operate in the Shadows, aiding the Joes but not revealing his identity. Other Bat Family joined the Joe team under various guises. Nightwing as Falcon, Batgirl as Bombshell, Catwoman as Jinx for a bit, Green Arrow and Black Canary as themselves.
Only Recently has Batman revealed his identity, after impersonating Snake Eyes for a while, and then working as an anonymous caped shadow, Batman reclaimed his Orbital Batcave (the new Millenium Falcon), put the costume back on and rescued Snake Eyes at a pivotal moment during his quest to recover the legendary sword, Stormbringer.
since then, Batgirl and Nightwing have also revealed their super hero identities, and Mr Freeze(Arctic Destro) has shown up in Cobra's employment.
And that's currently as far as my storyline goes so far. Of course, I skipped over the non-DC stuff, like Storm Shadow reuniting the Phieonix force and going dark, the tech sharing between the Cobra Empire and the Sith, Joe's recovery of Robotechnology from an alternate timeline, and other universes I have stole stuff from.

I must say that this site hasn't had much to offer recently so I haven't been around for a while but it's good to hear you guys are still discussing old topics and exploring new material.
I think both Oliver and Blackrazor make some valid points about the SEALs. Personally I think it's difficult to measure a unit's superiority, especially when they have different mission objectives requiring different skill sets. But I will ask this: Why does the military consider ST6 and Delta or CAG (or whatever they call them now) to be Tier 1 units if they aren't equally valuable? It would seem that ST6 is a more valuable asset than a normal SEAL team because of their additional training in CQC and hostage rescue and because they select the best SEALs from the other SEAL teams, so although they may not be better at typical SCUBA operations or UDT than SEAL Team 1, as Oliver put it, they are better at doing what ST6 was designed for.
Perhaps they don't do a Long Walk to weed out applicants, but who's to say they don't have a Long Swim or equivalent physical selection process. All we can do is speculate since they don't publish the selection process. It would be interesting to see how well members from various units would fare in each other's training/weed out programs, but I can see where Blackrazor is coming from in saying that finishing a long ruck march shouldn't or isn't necessarily the final line that separates the men from the boys. Plus, even though in most cases a unit that practices some task more than others is usually more proficient, there may be some tasks, even hard task like long rucks, at which extra training doesn't necessarily make you more proficient. I, for example, constantly encounter pilots with far more flight hours and experience than myself, but they have years of bad habits or can't land worth a crap. In other words, higher quantity (of flying time, experience or training) doesn't always mean higher quality or greater proficiency.
Although I haven't experienced any of the training firsthand, I've read a good bit about BUD/S, Ranger School, PJ and SF training, and Haney's book on Delta, and am friends with some former Rangers, LRSU guys and a sniper--but in the end I'm always thoroughly astounded by BUD/S and what the SEALs endure. It gives you the chills to read some of the training stories, and these are stories coming from guys I don't consider braggarts.
Many guys from non-Navy branches have spoken very highly of the SEALs and even my brother who thought about volunteering when he was in the Navy said no way when he witnessed the training they had to go through.
But then again, you always get a few swollen heads in any unit who are proud of their unit and personal accomplishments and they get a little overconfident or cocky. All I'm saying is that although ST6 and Delta may not be equal in terms expertise of specific skill sets, they definitely deserve equal respect regarding professionalism, experience and downright badassery.

And to answer Rambo's question about incorporating Marvel into my Joeverse:
I personally don't incorporate the DC universe into my Joe verse. Mainly because I don't like the figures. I do have Batman in my Joe verse. Or rather Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark who are the oil that makes the Joe team and equipment run. They both are 0-6 equivalents as Government Graded Senior Executives. They head a weapons development R&D group. I sort of have Joes and SHIELD mixed together.
I like what Tyroc has there an I may have to borrow some of that to explain my ridiculously top heavy force. But they are broken into 5 main commands stationed around the globe, sometimes broken into smaller units to cover large areas.
Far East Command(Airborne) is let by Gen. Colton, covers India; Japan; Korea + SE Asia and 1/2 of China
HQ in Bangkok
Maj Gen. Flagg Sr is XO
0-7:Hawk; Payload(not an astronaut)

Tyroc, I just have to question your choice to make the USS Flag an SCS. Mainly, I am concerned with landing F14s and F/A18-ish (or F16-ish) birds on that deck. VTOLs and helos make sense, but flight requiring forward movement for lift seems unlikely.
