I was thinking about trying to add a little green and make it sort of camo. What do you think?
Otherwise, what insignia would you put on it? I don't think it would be appropriate for an Infantry Officer to have "trash talk" painted on his equipment. You should know better, Jon. What did they teach you in the Air Force? I believe it was Drill Sgt. Brian McDaniels who once said, "The issued equipment of an Infantry soldier is not to be painted like the side of some Air Force aircraft or some Navy pilot's helmet - That looks like a billboard for a diseased whore house. That is the work of an individual with too much time on his hands. This is not the Post Office or the Girl Scouts. This is the Army, and the Army is going to teach Privates how to be warriors and killers who work as a team, not to think like hippie individuals doing an art project and smoking refer." Jon, you should listen to Drill Sgt. McDaniels. |

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero - The Data Desk Handbook: A-M DDP Oct. 2007 It lists "Special Forces School" under Kamakura's list of "Training & Skills". I should also note that by and large, DDP did a terrible job with training and skills for these guys. I don't think they had any idea what they were talking about.

No offense intended. I didn't mean anything by my earlier remarks. I was just giving my kid brother a hard time. "Drill Sgt. Brian McDaniels" is a character we made up when we were in College and both in ROTC at different schools - it's just an inside joke. I knew he would read it in the "Drill Sgt. McDaniels" voice we made up and laugh pretty hard. I think the Air Force is fine - it's a great branch of the military and we need it for national security. I just give my brother a lot of crap because we're an Army family. Sorry if I offended you or anyone else. I have no beef with the Air Force and I'm very thankful for the service and efforts of men like your father and grandfather. Honestly, I those remarks were a joke for Jon, and I'm sorry if I offended you. Air Power is vital to American security - and the Infantry couldn't do it's job without Air support.

I could care less about this drill sgt. McDaniels! My father did his part as did his buddies and they were just as much apart of the cause! My father got spit on and called a baby killer when he returned from the war. I wonder if McDaniels knows what that is like to get spit on and called a baby killer?

Drill Sgt. Brian McDaniels is a fictional character created for comic value - he's an inside joke. According to him, he's fought in every war ever fought on American soil since the French-Indian War and in every conflict the U.S. Army has ever participated in because "he is the Infantry". He was even at Tripoli because the Marines needed help from a "REAL" soldier... but it's all bull crap. It's a joke, and I'm sorry if it offended anyone. It's just a little inner service rivalry - we all pull together and count on each other when the time comes. The Army and the Air Force are closely related, like the Navy and the Marine Corps. It's just punching shoulders. Sorry for the confusion.

Well, hopefully that's settled...
Anyway, so about the 6 official Special Forces soldiers in G.I. Joe - and I'll admit there is plenty of evidence to support the others as potential Green Berets. Would any one be interested in a 6-Pack of the Green Berets - call them "Alpha Team" or something (Like a Special Forces A-Team). They've got a good mix of specialties. Drop Zone could even work as a sniper because he's a Special Forces weapons expert - not just a heavy machine gunner. Flint could even work as a Sharp Shooter (8" line file card). They could get some matching camo. Drop Zone would need a new uniform design, and Kamakura might be better in a more commando uniform (like Snake-Eyes, obviously). I think it could work really well, and I'd buy it. What about y'all?

Kamakura's origin had him working special ops with a 6 man squad that Duke and Chuckles put together. The team was killed by Firefly in a special mission. The team seemed like a smaller Joe team when the Joe team was disbanded.
There's a reason we have all the service branches, they all play a very important part in making missions successful and bringing all our boys home.

Just thought of a possible CMH candidate: Mangler. Remember he died to buy some time for Lightfoot, Dusty and Outback to escape. Outback even said that he would recommend him for a medal at the end.
