So lately I've been on a "Belisarivs Productions" marathon. This year I have watched: 1-8 of NCIS, 1-4 of Airwolf, 1-8 of JAG, 1,4,5 of Magnum PI.
Still need to watch "Tales of the Gold Monkey and Quantum Leap (2 seasons of cheesy JAG and the remaining 5 Magnum seasons) I wondered if Stringfellow Hawke's and TC's rank were reversed. In the Flashback scenes Theodore Calvin was in the Marines and has a Warrant Officer's rank. While String was a Captain in the Army. I think I read somewhere that the Flight Warrant Officer's program for Army Helicopter pilots and the Marines still used Officers? Thanks for the help

Yup. There was a proposal a few years back to open up helicopter pilot positions in the Marine Corps to "high school-to-flight school" warrant officers like the Army, but I don't think the proposal went anywhere (probably because the Navy, which nominally operates all USMC flight training, wasn't onboard with the idea). |

I just never liked the characters... I suppose it's hard for me to pull for a bunch of lawyers.

Magnum has always been my favorite, and I love Quantum Leap, but I've been meaning to watch Airwolf. I don't know anything about "Tales of the Gold Monkey"... have you ever seen it? Any good?

Early seasons had him as a Lieutenant that retired or the retconned later seasons starting with Season 5 as a Lieutenant Commander that retired in 1979. Which probably fits better for 3 tours and a stint with the NIA (Navy Intelligence).

Gotta agree with you on JAG, Oliver. I never really got into it, either. It wasn't really bad, but it wasn't great. Of course, Catherine Bell was very easy on the eyes. NCIS is much better, but I haven't watched the last couple of seasons. Airwolf was such an awesome show, I need to get the set at some point. And I haven't heard about Tales of the Gold Monkey in years. I don't remember much of the show either, except what Takedown mentioned.

It was awesome to see guest stars of which were regulars from previous belisarivs shows most notable: Larry Manetti [Rick/Magnum], Ernest Borgnine (Domonic Santini/Airwolf) and Dean Stockwell was the secretary of navy in later seasons (Al/Quantum Leap). Also not sure of the actors names but Agent Fornell (NCIS), Tim McGee (NCIS) were all guest stars on JAG too.

The thing that gets me the most about JAG was the cheezy music. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the dialog is really melodramitic and hard to watch, but the music is really crazy. I don't mean the main theme song; that's actually pretty good. I just mean how Harm will do some lawyer crap, and they'll start playing the theme song in the background like he's just won a war. total cheeze-fest.
I watched the Airwolf pilot on Netflix last night. Not bad, and I'll keep watching... but it's no Magnum.

I just remember it had an Indiana Jones feel to it and he flies a type of seaplane it was only on for a season around 1982. My best friend picked it up, Im next in line to borrow it.

Which probably fits better for 3 tours and a stint with the NIA (Navy Intelligence). Magnum re-enters the Navy at the end of Season 8 as a Commander (O-5). I use him as Commander Magnum: Head of G.I. Joe Naval Special Operations.

I feel like Airwolf S4 is just like NCIS Los Angeles, the lines are forced and not under the production of Don Bellisario, because he's not in the room, Don was fired from NCIS at the end of season 4. Because, Mark Harmon said Don goes or I go and CBS said Don goes. So now all we can do is watch the past. Don is too old to make any new stuff. I mean NCIS holds together because of his crew, sons, daughters, nephews and Chas, but NCIS is just not the same without him. Tho NCIS:LA never had him. Im hoping to integrate a few characters of Belisarivs Productions in my Joe Unit. My plan is everyone in 1979-87 time era and most of them helicopter pilots or Marines. CW-3 Stringfellow Hawke (Dunno if Applied Physics would push him up to officer). and an extra Mainframe as Dominic Santini, US Army Air Corps (retired) and a Jungle Ripcord as 1Lt Theodore Calvin, Sgt Orville "Rick" Wright. Also SSgt Leroy J Gibbs and Lt Cdr Magnum is there too Funny the word anagrams by design or by accident in Don's work... Harmon Rabb Jr (JAG) Mark Harmon, (actor NCIS) AJ [Albert Jethro] Chedwiggen (JAG) Leroy Jethro Gibbs (NCIS) Lt Mac (Magnum) Major Sarah MacKenzie (JAG) Kensi (NCIS:LA)
