I think the 1993 Beachhead design is solid considering the other figures that came out in 1993, but the colours don't appeal to me at all (which could be said about a lot of the 1990s ARAH stuff). Also, I'm not a big fan of characters with balaclavas having the fine details of their noses and lips sculpted as almost poking through the fabric of their masks (this also extended to the figure's card art... what's the point of wearing a mask when your face's features show through it anyway?).

I think it is netting. There was a series of military books called the Power Series from a company called Motorbooks. The Navy SEAL book showed a pic with a guy doing CQB training. He's wearing a type of netting instead of a balaclava. You don't see that look often, but it was real world based. I liked that figure a lot. It made a great base for my SEAL Team 6 fireteam. I did head swaps with Battle Corps Stalker, Star Brigade Sci-Fi, Shockwave V2 and Static Line. I probably would have bought more, but they started repainting the vests yellow.

My books are in storage at the moment, and I can't seem to find the pic online. This is the book itg was in:
Amazon.com: Us Navy Seals: Hans Halberstadt: Books The SEAL I saw was wearing black netting with the eyes cut out with a protec helmet and skydiving goggles.

In case anyone is interested, found this as well. It's a paper that both charts Special Forces thru its inception with org charts but also has some very interesting recommendations. Such as the need for female HUMINT collectors to work more with OD-A teams on the ground..

Cool pics. The guy in the second picture needs better trigger discipline, though

Yeah, got those Lardman thanks
I still remember walking into WH Smith in Cambridgeshire, when I was 10 and buying the Action Force Water Moccassin with Copperhead and a bunch of other figs. Made my later week long stay on a Welsh farm worthwhile. |

Wow Tyroc! I had no idea how widespread it had got either. I wonder if it took the 86 year to get the ball rolling? Even though there are a few from the 84 years it looks like they released them 86ish? I'm having a lot of fun going through the ranks.
My favorite so far is Dodger as a Colonel Would that make him #2? And Static line is a Captain, Skydive is a Leiutenant.
