Finally got a carded PoC Steel Brigade figure. Nice nod to the 1988 order form by leaving the space for the filename blank in the filecard. I wasn't thrilled with the figure when I first saw the pics online, but it's grown on me (the articulation is tops) and is in my top three favourite PoC figures so far (the other two being PoC Firefly and the Shock Trooper). My one gripe, and it's a minor one, is I wish instead of an FN SCAR, his second assault rifle was an M4 or M16A4 with an underbarrel M203 or M320 grenade launcher or conversely, instead of an M4 with a bayonet, his other assault rifle was an FN SCAR with an underbarrel FN40GL grenade launcher. That way, you can configure him according to the 4 standard fireteam positions: rifleman, grenadier, automatic support weapon gunner, and anti-tank weapon specialist.

I wish he'd redo the M60 and the M249, though. The grips are too big. I'd also like to see an M240. I just got three of the MB II cards. I'll post them on Thursday. Not much has changed but they effed up some of the MOS's. DT's says Infantry (11X). Apparently he hasn't finished BCT and AIT yet. Claymore has 18A, and his card says leading the ODA of Joes for Mission Brazil, but none of the other Joes have a Special Forces MOS. Last edited by Tanksmasher; 06-07-2011 at 11:58 AM.. |

What? No POC Low-Light in your top 3?
Incidentally I just ordered some M16s with M203 and the modular M4. I love that mold. Probably the best one he's done. Does anyone know what real scope or sight the "A-P site" (see "Modular" Component: A-P Site (1) - 1:18 Scale Accessory for 3-3/4 Inch Action Figures) is supposed to represent? I wish he'd redo the M60 and the M249, though. The grips are too big. I'd also like to see an M240. I just got three of the MB II cards. I'll post them on Thursday. Claymore has 18A, and his card says leading the ODA of Joes for Mission Brazil, but none of the other Joes have a Special Forces MOS. In that scale, it could pass for a few different models. The M240 is suppossed to be in the next wave. Marauder "Gun-Runners" Series #6 | Facebook

Have you seen the Dusty figure that comes with the Desert Rockslide? His uniform can pretty much pass for Woodland MARPAT, IMO. All you'd have to do is fix the elbow articulation (IIRC, the Dusty figure's arm is limited to an obtuse angle at maximum flexion at the elbow) and swap the hands with that from the Steel Brigade figure so you can get the new articulation thing going.
YOJOE.COM | Wallace "Ripcord" Weems This pic makes it seem like they did a half-ass job of painting Dusty. YOJOE.COM | Dusty The real draw for me with the Steel Brigade figure is that figure vest combo works well for a modern real world soldier. You could paint a UCP, ABU, DCU, or Woodland pattern and it would still work. The only issue for me would be swapping the head and maybe getting rid of the turtleneck piece.

I liked the PoC Low-Light figure initially, but the shine wore off significantly when I found that the sculpt of his sleeves prevented him from taking any sort of "sniping" pose, even with the extra wrist articulation. It's one of those cases where I wish there was more of a balance between sculpt detail and functional articulation. I still like the figure, just not as much as a lot of other people.
Ah, I'd forgotten about that guy (he's buried deep in the depths of my RoC figures bin). Cheaper alternative to the Rockslide Dusty as well. Also comes with a couple of weapons that I've never seen in the 1:18 scale, a Daewoo USAS-12 automatic shotgun and a Tula Arms VSK-94 integrally silenced "para-sniper" rifle, although the VSK is a bit out of scale (it's undersized, almost 1:20 or 1:24 scale if I had to take a guess). |

Is there anything that would lead us to believe that Cross Hair is a Ranger? Or that any of the Joe snipers are Rangers?

Scrolled would be best but I can't think of any off the top of my head. I'll take either.
I'm working on a Cross Hair custom and would like to put him in my Ranger squad. Here's what I've got so far- nothing spectacular just what I found in my parts bin: Last edited by Topside; 06-07-2011 at 06:29 PM.. |

I don't think there is confirmation of either one. There is also nothing that says he isn't one or the other. It's up to you.
