I was thinking he's be head filecard writer as well. We still don't know what his role will be. Maybe something like Fan Liason Director, and he can set up interactions with fans to get us to write filecards for them.

I use IronMan's Whiplash as Crystal Ball. I just added the Coat from Han Solo. I'm not sure how I feel about Dr Strange as Crystal-Ball, but I'm sure he works well.

Good catch, I forgot all about Recoil. It's interesting how many prototype technologies actually made it into Ron Rudat's toy designs (although I don't think any of it was designated as controlled unclassified information... he was given guided tours at Natick and other military R&D sites during the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s and presumably, what he was allowed to see for research purposes was stuff that was available for viewing to the American public upon request). Off the top of my head, of the 1980s Rudat stuff, here are the real-world 1960s/1970s/1980s military prototypes that never went into full production or beyond the testing phase, but made it onto GI Joe as "Easter Eggs":
Some people will probably argue that the Phantom X-19 was based on a real-world prototype, but given all existing and reliable evidence, the supposed X-19 developed by the Air Force is a myth (the Air Force's top secret "Have Blue" stealth technology testing platform looked nothing at all like the various "X-19" renditions based on speculation). I wrote a detailed post (with links to images) about the "F-19" myth's origins here if any of you are interested in reading it. |

IIRC it was called the "high survivability test vehicle", or something close to that.

Ah, beat me to it. Yeah, the High Survivability Test Vehicle and the M32 RDF Light Tank were parallel and similar designs built by AAI meant to fulfill the same requirements (the former was the US government demonstrator version, the latter was a "full" version for use by the RDF and also intended as a demonstrator for potential foreign military sales, IIRC).
