Nice tankmaster. Did we ever get the timeline for when Stalker, Snake-Eyes and Storm-Shadow were in Vietnam?

My surname came up as 89,026 and 177 people in the US, mostly in Iowa which is odd.
Never thought about using Ace v2 as a different character, but will do so now. Mercer in my 'verse is used like Loose Cannon's. He was a CID agent who was part of Flagg's second 13 man Joe team who were kept a secret from everyone except Hawk. The others being; Storm Shadow, Wade Collins, Agent Delta, Shooter, Wild Bill, Doc, Ace, Duke, Roadblock and a few others. To me, it helps explain why these characters were all Cobra infiltrators or early support types as seen in the Joe Declassified series and why in WWIII Duke keeps telling Delta / Rourke that he has a chance to fight "as one of us, one of the originals". I always liked Col Courage, he's the Ops officer and in charge of the Joe Sabre Teams. Hey Loose, what head are you using for your Col Courage? |

Jungle POC Ripcord, with a Sharpie Beard.
I figured it was about the time of the Tet Offensive for the Vietnam vets, but 1968 just makes them so old. 60+ years old

None of the above is particularly attractive, though I'd be interested in a well thought out and written backstory update (which we sort of got for SE in the Origins comics iirc). |

The Viet Nam stuff has to be slid up the timeline or it doesn't work anymore.

LRP companies were re-designated Ranger companies in 1969, so Lurps weren't referred to as Rangers in 1968 officially. And these Ranger companies were not part of the 75th Ranger Regiment as it exists today. The Regiment was not fully formed until years laters. So LRPs and modern Rangers are not one and the same, although modern Rangers do have soldiers that perform the duties of long-range recon and surveillance. So the average LRRP/Ranger was much different during the Vietnam War era than what we call today's Ranger, which is a highly-ready, highly mobile, light infantry unit. Clear as mud?
Good link here: The Vietnam Experience LRRP 1966-1972 On the ages, I just kinda forget about it, I like the Vietnam connections, and I'm still living in the 80's so it's ok! Speaking of which, saw Captain EO at Epcot recently and that was a blast, I had seen it when I was a kid on vacation with my sister, so it really brought back the memories.

The only specific date given in Marvel was Jan 31, 1968, at the start of the TET Offensive. That is the day that Stalker, Tommy and SE are reporting MACV-SOG in Saigon and Tommy gets shot. Later the Baroness's brother gets killed. Sometime after that is the infamous ambush where half of Stalker's LRP team is wiped out. We don't know that date but we know that SE and Tommy had already complete a one-year tour in Nam and Stalker had been with them for 6 months.

Thanks guys, had some experiences with Rangers lately and saw some LRRP connections. I didn't know they operated with 9 man squads.
