If we're going for obscure surnames, I got both of you beat, mine's not even listed in the page I linked to... you have to do a manual search to see the ranking: It's ranked 44,066th... I apparently share my surname with 420 (ha ha) people in the States, the bulk of whom live in California.

The "Action Man" cartoon show tells us that Action Man's real name is "Alex Mann". In my Joeverse, Action Man is to Intel as Super Trooper is to Combat Arms.

It's a book not from a series afaicr (there was a film adaptation from the 70s which wasn't too bad: When Eight Bells Toll (1971 film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).
Alistair Maclean wrote many books and all with similar hero characters though quite different backgrounds and storylines. They are pretty short (by modern standards) and decent thrillers, I'd recommend them. P.S. My surname is ranked a puny 2,403, so there are 11,497 people in the US with my surname. |

Ranked 4,858 and there are 5,502 people with it in the US.
Adding an e to the end makes it ranked 557,878 and only 14 people. Adding a by to the end makes it ranked 248,213 and only 47 people. Mostly in California, Massachusetts, Florida, Maine and New York (377-470 listings). New Hampshire is second, in the 283-376 range.

On the subject of Action Man..
Don't really use him in my Joeverse. I might use him as Alex Mann and have him be one of Colton's old crew of adventurers/operatives. Bullet-Proof is one of those that I think suffers from being so late in the line, and a fairly uninspired design. I think if he had been earlier in the line he would have been more popular.

Bullet Proof is ok- he fits the urban ops team perfect.
A big disappointment for me is Col. Courage. Great figure design but his filecard is absolute garbage. Saw a custom on here a few weeks ago and it renewed my interest in the character and trying to find a good spot for him in my verse. |

I use Courage as my mission planner.
He'd also make a good XO to Hawk.

I like both Courage and Bullet-Proof. I turned my TRU Officer 3-pack Duke into Courage. Other than the skin color the rest is almost perfect. Bullet Proof is another problem I haven't found anything that works well for me. He's the custom I'm the most interested in.
Courage to me is the ultimate XO at HQ. But your right the filecard is fairly lame.
