Now here's something somewhat related to the Ace v2 issue:
I think most people consider Mercer v1 and Mercer v2 as being the same guy, despite the vastly different filenames and birthplaces ("Felix Stratton" and "Spencer, West Virginia," for the former; "Richard Cecil" and "Richmond, Virginia" for the latter) as well as slightly different affiliations (v1 was a member of Sgt. Slaughter's Renegades, v2's filecard mentions that he was a former member of Sgt. Slaughter's Marauders). I consider them the same guy, myself (just easier that way). Any theories as to why most Joe fans (of the ones I've talked to here on the 'tank and elsewhere) consider them to be one and the same guy despite all the glaring differences? Do you consider one a cover identity? Some sort of "witness protection" program identity change-up? Did this ever get brought up in the later comics for a No-Prize?

Bullet-Proof does seem a bad-ass. I like your reasoning Olivier.
I can't think of who else to add. The new Law would be a good fit.

Guys, I'd like to talk about Bullet-Proof for a minute,a nd I could really use your help...
So lately I've been thinking about doing a SWAT/CQB Team. I'm basically thinking of using the roster from the 2008 Club SWAT Team, and just updating it with ME style figures and a few more Joes. 1. Bullet-Proof 2. Shockwave 3. Bullhorn 4. Low-Light 5. Long Arm 6. Wide Scope And I may add some more... the new "Law" has a really great Police Vest. Anyway, Bullet-Proof seems like a good choice for a Team Leader. Sure-Fire was obviously a potential candidate, but I use him as my overall Joe Police/CID/SWAT commander... so I figure Bullet-Proof could serve well as the SWAT Commander. So what can we figure out about this guy? He's from the U.S. Marshal service, and the fact that he's considered an expert on SWAT operations, he's probably from the Marshal's Special Operations Group. I don't know a lot about those guys, but from what I could find on the internet, they're the main SWAT/SRT unit for the USMS. It also lists that he's qualifed to pilot the Apache helicopter... was he possibly prior service as an Army Aviation Officer? It's interesting that he was the commander of the Joe's DEF, but he came from the Marshal service rather than the DEA... However, in the body of the filecard, it says he was an Officer in the DEA... sounds like he led a FAST team, which is pretty awesome. Those guys supposedly have a lot of former Army SF guys working for them. To me, it seems like he would be one of the better CQB shooters on the whole Joe Team. He's not a sniper like Low-Light or Barrell Roll, but I bet he's tough to beat with a sub-maching gun or a pistol... probably ranks right up there with Bullhorn and Sure-Fire. sorry to answer a question with another question but where do you use guys like Chuckles and Psyche Out? I like the idea of Bulletproof leading the SWAT team/ Urban Warfare and Surefire being the overall leader of the Joe's Enforcement/ Security operations but it got me to thinking about who their 2iCs would be. Chuckles' filecard specifically mentions CID so he could have a history with Surefire but he's enlisted. Psyche Out is an officer but I've always thought of him more as an Intel asset or maybe even a Green Beret. |

Last Name Popularity - Origin, meanings and more | WhitePages It uses phone directory data, so I'm unsure as to how well it reflects surname popularities overall (to include people who don't have phones or people who are unlisted in the phone directory), but I figure it provides a good ballpark estimate as to how the actual popularities rank. |

I've heard/read anecdotal evidence of SOG-qualified marshals serving alongside US Army personnel in Iraq and ISAF units in Afghanistan, where they help train local federal police units, but I haven't come across any official releases explaining what else they are authorized to do overseas. Quote:
Cover identity. One is his Pre-Joe identity and the other is his current identity. I think Stratton is his real name and the one he operated with when a Viper. When he joined the Joes, Hawk had a new ID made so that the government stooges (the Jugglers) wouldn't realize that there was a former Viper in the Joes.

Sure-Fire, Chuckles, Low-Light, Agent Faces, Mace, etc. I use Psyche-Out with my Green Berets. He's also the X-O for my Night Force Team. He's Psy Ops... I served with 4th PsyOps Group (Airborne) at Ft. Bragg, so for me, Psyche-Out is pretty cool.

What about Action Man? Do you guys use him? Do you keep the terrible code name? What about his rank? I suppose he could work in CID or any Intel unit.

I tend to think of Action Man as Action Force's version of Joseph "G.I.Joe" Colton. They're both originally "generic/troop builder"-style Hasbro figures from the 1960s who were redesigned as individual "named" characters. His filecard does say he's based in Europe, so I think the Action Force angle works (and his goofy codename juxtaposed with the Action Force team name parallels Joe Colton's own codename and its relationship with GI Joe; i.e., Action Man : Action Force :: Joseph "G.I.Joe" Colton : G.I.Joe). Maybe he's Action Force's lead counterintelligence guy.
