Yeah, I knew there was a reference to Patton in there somewhere with why Hawk wore the bomber's jacket.
I think we discussed that 1000 pages ago, lol. That being said, if want to make Hawk a pilot, go for it.

you are right his filecards/biography have him as artillery I was remember this one though that came with the a-10 thunderbolt as the pilot. Whats weird is his filecard starts to lead you on that he'd become a pilot, which ends up with him being a Radar specialist...guess that was the extent of his "longing for the skys" That said I think giving him a classic Joeplane would still be universally recognized as Hawk if done right..for a custom so I just wanted to bounce the idea around here first

And yeah, it was funny how every Joe in the cartoon was a qualified fighter pilot. Heck, Junkyard would even sit in the co-pilot's seat every now and then. |

Even as a kid I hated that all the Joes could pilot skystrikers and skyhawks, SHARCs and drive vamps, mobats and AWEs.
Drove me nuts. What was the use of having Ace in the cartoon if Dusty or Spirit could fly a Skystriker?

I always thought the garrison cap (though used by all services) on the 2000 General Tomahawk made him look more like an old fighter pilot.

YOJOE.COM | General Tomahawk Wonder why they went with so many pilot elements for a non-pilot?

Chibi-fying? Nice usage. I don't think I'll be able to work that one in a conversation anytime soon. I agree that underscale, disproportionate vehicles are nothing like a true 1/18 scale version, but I've come to accept that Hasbro will never release a Skystriker like the JSI F-14 Tomcat and certainly not a 1/18 aircraft carrier which would take up an entire garage! It would be fantastic though. But if scaled-down is the only thing we can get, it could still make a pretty decent launching pad for the smaller Skystrikers, Dragonflys and VTOLs.
It think it's one oe the comic pack reissues. It has the Skystriker and Rattler dogfighting. They both run out of ammo and Ace and Wild Weasel end up saluting each other out of respect.

You know, you could just use that Hawk as a new character....
I did like how they introduced Sci-Fi in the cartoon mini-series. He and Low-Light outshoot Leatherneck and Wet-Suit. But yeah, they were pretty redundant. Speaking of Wet-Suit in the cartoon... How the hell was he the Joe chosen to participate in the "best martial artist in the world" that CC organized to try to find someone to assassinate Serpentor?
