I just picked up a 25th Major Blood at Five Below yesterday. Never really had much interest in this character when I was a kid, but thought he might work for a project I currently have in mind.
Question is- how do you guys use him in your verse? Mercenary or Cobra officer? Because of his helmet(Cobra trooper/ officer) I was thinking of doing a repaint and making him Cobra's battlefield leader but them I saw the skull emblem on his belt buckle and I knew he would be the perfect leader for his own army using the heads that SDS/ Trigate had- lower half of face is covered by mask and they are wearing a beret with the same skull emblem that Blood has. The heads are not currently available but that's ok because I don't have the money to buy them right now anyway. Just plotting my course. Wanted to see what you guys thought. He's in charge of Cobra's special operations. He started as a Merc but joined Cobra full time.

just found this over at yo joe-http://www.yojoe.com/action/06/majorbludd7.shtml
dont remember seeing that before but it might be what put the idea in my head. either way I'm more excited about this project now. i envision them being a force to be reckoned with, in line with Destro's Iron Grenadiers. They might not have all the fancy weapons, but they have tons of practical experience and can kick some serious butt. now i'm wondering how to fold range vipers into the backstory so i can use their skull helmets. |

Range-Vipers are the Cobra troopers Bludd "stole" from Cobra when he went off on his own again. They were loyal to him and followed him.

Damn this fits right in with my Joeverse.
ME: Major Bludd and the Skull Squad worked for the Red Skull. He sends them on a mission and forgets them. Major Bludd is replaced by the Taskmaster in the meantime. Cobra Commander picks up on this rouge team of mercs due to their exceptional skills. The original Skull-Squad's 6 members: Skullbuster: who CC makes create the Range-Vipers Guillotine: Who heads the Eels Grim-Skull: Sand-Viper Overkill-Robert Skelton: Saw-Viper Big-Boa: Cross-Bones: (Capt America can't wait!) head of the Alley-Vipers (May actually be Skullbuster's Brother) Left in the Amazon they drafted other members: Gallows: The 2nd Saw-Viper (Saw-Vipers were a Skull-Squad concept) Asa-Negra Shadow-Tracker (The ROSS exclusive Range-Viper) I might add others but that's all for now.

What's your reasoning with Overkill, Big Boa & Shadow Tracker? Also, I haven't seen any lately but alot of Salem & Rios customs (Army of Two video game) used the skull helmets from the RoC Vipers. I'm tempted to add them to Blood's crew. Last edited by Topside; 04-09-2011 at 12:15 AM.. |

Damn I forgot about them. I have a nice custom pair. They fit so well with the others. I may have them as the Skull Squad replacements that work for Red Skull.
I like to think that when they expanded the ranks, Skull-Buster trained a guy who later became Shadow-Tracker. He's the first Range-Viper. Later he gets lost and becomes Shadow-Tracker. Overkill is just another SAW-Viper like Gallows. Both just heavy weapons guys. Later on he becomes the RObot Version. Big Boa in my verse is more a Special Ops trainer than just a Physical Fitness guy. Almost as much of a badass as Skullbuster. I have a custom character to represent him which looks nothing like the 87 version.
