Is He? Officially? Did it say "PJ/Pararescue" on his new filecard?
The gear is awesome... and the alternate 'Pro-Tec" helmet is fantastic. Marine Deadpool can do a paint job for me - tactical variant.

Well, he really should be a PJ, based on his training. In order for him to have become a paramedic for Seattle FD, he would have had to start out as a firefighter/EMT-Basic, and would have had to work for 3 years at that level before he could enroll in the paramedic training program, which at 2,000 hours is one of the most stringent in the US. With that amount of training, which would also make him an older character than has been portrayed, he simply makes more sense as a special ops-type medic.

I was just wondering if the filecard gave us any "official" confirmation one way or the other.

18D makes sense as well, but I haven't seen a pic of his filecard yet. I'm just glad that they decided, once and for all, to NOT make him a pacifist.

Every medic in a Special Ops unit is also a shooter. His "Uniform" was always a little over the top for me, but it's classic and I know a lot of people want to see him in a classic color scheme.

I'm still psyched that Lifeline is now a PJ.
That rocks. I'm iffy on the whole subscription thing. It sounds like you have to subscribe for the 12 figures to get the 13th. But I already don't want one of the 2 first "wave". I want Quarrel. I don't want Nano-BAT. I hope they let us know what all the figures are. If the 13th is awesome and there's only 1 or 2 out of the 12 that I wouldn't want, then it would be worth the subscription. But if it ends up that I only want 1 out of the 2 each month, then it's not worth the subscription. I'm also worried about what this means for ARAH figures at retail. If the Club is doing a subscription and it lasts beyond the 6 month trial then Hasbro wouldn't have any motivation to release ARAH figures anymore since the collectors would get their fix from the Club and that would free up Hasbro to do non-ARAH stuff at retail. We can always hope that we see some mould re-use and have a PJ in camo released too using the same moulds! |

Ultimately, I don't think it matters a whole lot if you rationalize Lifeline as being an 18D, a PJ, a Naval Special Warfare Corpsman, or a Force Recon Independent Duty Corpsman. As far as their actual medical training goes, they've all been trained up to the same standards. Where they differ is what they're also qualified to do beyond being combat medics. NSW Corpsmen, for example, are also either qualified SEALs or SWCCs which means that they are, at the very least, HALO and basic combatant swimmer-qualified (SEAL medics are BUD/S qualified, of course). Force Recon Independent Duty Corpsmen are airborne-qualified and are graduates of the USMC's Basic Reconnaissance Course and a Special Operations Diver/Swimmer Course (they are fully trained as combatant swimmer and parachute-qualified Reconnaissance Men, and some of them are actually BUD/S graduates). 18Ds are qualified Special Forces operators (unlike their NSW and PJ counterparts, combatant swimming and HALO qualification are not prerequisites, although chances are most 18Ds are qualified in these areas anyway) Last edited by zuludelta; 04-04-2011 at 06:15 AM.. |

Are Ranger medics included in that group? Do they get to go to the second half of special ops medic school? Also, I think it's less likely that an 18D is HALO and SCUBA qualified. Special Forces has HALO and SCUBA teams for when they need a special insertion. You are either one or the other. Most SF soldiers are just static-line trained.

Lifeline looks fantastic. I love the parachute rig and ballistic helmet. He's definitely serving as a PJ in my book. Who would have thought that some of the least interesting figures from ARAH, like Sci-Fi, would turn out so fantastic. I hope Sci-Fi's helmet itself can actually be removed from the head, rather than having two heads with non-removeable helmets. Also, has anyone heard whether Airtight's helmet is removeable?

Sci-Fi was one of my favorites as a kid, he was usually a pilot for a spaceship or my Zentradi Officer's battlepod.
