Well they are rather expensive, so aren't eating into the market inhabited by standard Joes (though Hasbro seem to want to push the price that way! ;))

Safe travels to every tanker traveling this weekend. Hope you all have terrific news of the status of the new improved filecards (hopefully waves 5 & 6) and to report on the Mission Brazil II filecards.

Don't think anyone from the thread will be there. I was supposed to but Uncle Sam and tax season stopped that.
I want that Armadillo they are giving away there. When first saw that as part of the PoC line I was in love. A camoflauged Armadillo is awesome. I need it. I must have it. But not at EBay prices. I'm not a big Python Patrol fan so the rest of the stuff doesn't interest me. Never cared for the Stun so could care less about that. But the 2 pack may interest me if it's Gatilho and Relempago.

Here is something interesting about the 39th version of Storm Shadow. It says in his Filecard that he wears Samurai Desert Armor to fight Snake Eyes. Since when does a Ninja wear Samurai armor?

As for ninjas wearing samurai armour... well, the historical ninja (and not the "pop culture ninja") allegedly used whatever was available, which I imagine would include appropriating samurai weapons and clothing. But here's the thing about ninja in history... there's very little reliable historical fact regarding ninja and ninjutsu. A lot of the stuff we assume is "true" or at least having some basis in historical fact can only be traced reliably to the claims of one man, Fujita Seiko, who died in 1966. Seiko claimed direct lineage to the Kōga-ryū school of espionage and he taught various espionage and martial arts techniques to Japanese intelligence agents at the infamous Nakano Spy School in World War II. But Seiko had no heirs, and didn't teach any of his students enough for him to think them worthy to carry on the Kōga tradition. He said that real ninjutsu (that is, ninjutsu that has direct ties to koryu ninjutsu) would die with him. Somewhat unsurprisingly, after Seiko's death, all sorts of "ninja masters" claiming to be heirs to the Koga or Iga ninjutsu tradition starting coming out of the woodwork. Now, I'm not saying that all modern ninjutsu schools are run by frauds (although a lot of them are of dubious reputability), but the oldest ninjutsu school is actually only a little over 30 years old (Masaaki Hatsumi's Bujinkan school, founded in 1978). Hatsumi and others claim that they're descended from the Koga or the Iga koryu schools (the two largest ninjutsu schools in medieval Japan) and thus like to say that their schools date back four or more centuries, but to date, I don't think any one of them has shown indisputable proof of their lineage. |

I imagine too that most of what surrounds ninjitsu is legend or myth. In fact creating the illusion or notion that ninjas have incredible, almost supernatural skills alone had a psychological effect on the enemy.

That's also what makes ninjutsu so attractive to fraud martial artists, scammers, and pathological liars. If you question a "sensei's" qualifications and lineage, he'll deflect your inquiry by saying that he was a "secret student" or studied "off the rolls" or that his lineage was purposefully obscured to protect Koga or Iga family secrets or whatever.

Neat custom (it's my boy Cool Breeze! Talk about obscure!). I will say though, the G36 (is it an "E" model?) is a bit of an odd choice. Then again, maybe you can reason out that he's working alongside Spanish or German ISAF forces.
