Pull yourself together man. You can't fizzle out now Troy!. Nobody loves a quitter. OK I'm just giving you a hard time. Not that I plan on doing this soon but I've heard of guys who sold their collections and found it very liberating. I don't know how I'll part with mine. I sort of glad they haven't made too many vehicles because then I would have to pass up on figures.
I remember when I loved Joes the most maybe 1985. I think I had 50 joes total. Now you have to buy 50 a year to keep up. I miss those days. I miss getting the catalog inside a vehicle and thinking I had all year to collect everything. Now you have 2 weeks and it goes on clearance if you see it at all. So you pay triple the price on ebay, only to discover they have it at ROSS for 1/3 the original price if only you waited a few months.

I'm not discouraged to collect Joes. Just don't want to as much any more.
Got nothing to do with the amount coming out. Got everything to do with no where to keep it/put it/display it and no desire to have it sitting around.

Hey I'm still in, though I do look back at some of the older 25th figures (when I have the time and space to unpack the box containing them all) and think that I could perhaps cull some to save storage space, but then I think I should just get on and buy a bigger house (with a room for me to make some dios and have space to have more than one custom on the go - which is where those figures might be usefully used)
I'm certainly still in with the comics (which was my main link originally) and actually quite like the infestation series strangely (perhaps it's the Alien-esqueness of it all, plus being underwater). So by way of an explanation of my cyclical interest comment from a few pages back: My interest in collecting is not to be a completist/completionist, but rather to capture the essence of the characters in some particular comic issue or in real life (and we have sufficient wars ongoing to give some choice there) I said my interests are cyclical and not just specifically to do with Joes (i.e. I could go for a month without thinking about Joes, concentrating on other hobby interests such as computer programming, building models [though this is usually Joe-scale related] or martial arts [or house hunting for that matter :( ]), but then something I see on the news or in a new comic (or an old one) will reignite my interest and I'll be making customs and looking at what parts to combine to achieve the look I want (and even with the martial arts bit I'm thinking in the background about how to make a decent set of 1:18th Samurai armour or a training school, etc, etc). As the sun is out the current interest is rocket making, with a Joe pilot of course, and that then means the general interest is in the Space/Pilot Joes/Cobras, but I could be swayed towards making some motorised submarines (need to find someone with a pool) so the Naval Joes/Cobras could quickly become flavour of the month. I know my interests change, I now accept it and leave what I was doing knowing I'll come back to it again. Anyway sorry for the long and rambling off-topic post |

Yeah it can be almost too much. But then I imagine I would lose interest faster if I didn't see anything new. Quote:

I read and bought most of the Marvel issues of G.I.Joe. I read the G.I.Joe comics up until where G.I.Joe dropped the bomb on Cobra Island. At the time I had to stop buying comics because I was making a car and house payments. Even though I have now finished making payments,I have gotten around to buying the comics.

Hey guys,
I could use a little help tracking down an accesory... The vest/LCE that comes on the 25th Air Trooper... does that piece of equipment come with any other figure? Also, on the off chance that anyone has some of these to sell, please PM me. But any info on that vest/LCE would be much appreciated. Thanks, guys.

I'm a big Main Frame fan. He was my brother's first Joe. He holds a special place in our Joeverse. He runs all communications/ tech for the U.S.S. Flagg, and consequently he's the commo guy for the Navy and Marine Corps... I'm a fan.
But I've never seen anything, ever, to show that he's Ranger qualified. No doubt he's tough. I think he was first in his Basic Training class at Paris Island. He's also very Smart - I think he's got a degree from M.I.T. And if I had to pick one tech guy in all of G.I. Joe, it would be Mainframe... but I don't think he's a Ranger. |

I have no idea Oliver. Isn't it the same as the vest things all the Cobra Officers wear?

Yes he is. I'm pretty pumped about the new Convention Mainframe we're getting.
