Like the Dirty Dozen? I like it. Are these guys gonna share all skill sets equally or are some of them going to be the lead experts in demo, communications, medical, etc?

The "Joes' Infantry Warrant Officer Program"?
That's interesting. It's kind of neat; the USMC has Infantry Warrant Officers, but the Army does not. I guess it all boils down to each fan's Joeverse, and how they interpret the file card info, and what options each fan envisions the Joe's offering. I've always seen Flint as a Commando/SF Operator who could fly a helicopter when he needed to. |

You know, Clutch and Crankcase and the other drivers are some Joes that we rarely discuss. Clutch has Ranger School and Covert Ops School under his belt, so using him simply as an 11B driver of HMMWVs or other vehicles seems a misallocation of a valuable asset. I think Clutch and others should be "drivers" second and "fighters" first. So they have the same qualifications and skills as most Joes but probably graduated from special courses in driving, including the following:
Tactical Vehicle Commandeering - vehicle selection & entry, defeating security devices and locks, "hot-wiring" Tactical Vehicle Interception - car-to-car gunfighting Evasive Maneuvers - escape by driving offroad, barricade breaching, obstacle avoidance, forward/reverse 180-degree turns, J-turns, bootlegs, passenger-side driving, driving in reverse Vehicle Intervention - learn Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to stop fleeing/attacking vehicles Defensive Line - learn to counter PIT Advanced Vehicle Driving - covers laws of Vehicle Dynamics, skid control, spin recovery, braking in curves, threshold braking, high-speed operation, night driving

Right, Tho I was referring to Flint's artwork, sunbow and marvel appearances. On those mediums, Flint had a Blue-tint beret, unlike his black beret on the actual figure. And possibly helping me make his early career in Airborne in the 101st. But His entry would be pushing Air Mobile in 1974, instead of Parachute-capable in the 101st.

I think that in some ways, the question:
"How exactly is Flint a Helicopter Pilot?" is almost as vexing as: "How exactly is Stalker not Special Forces?"

Stalker, I've moved him into Special Forces. Because of his medic and interpreter skills. Also, when everyone of his LRRP unit retired (Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Wade Collins) he stayed active service and continued. I gave him E-8 at the creation of GI JOE since he had about 12 years or so of service. Early Marvel issues 1-22, Stalker appears to be Top NCO with Hawk at the recruiting period for GI JOE. So by issue 33 promotions he becomes Sergeant Major. Amazing, issue 33, only 8 of the original 13 get promotions. Hawk, Steeler, Grand Slam, Clutch and Snake Eyes are still active, recieve no promotion and no re-assignment to "B-Team" support (flying a desk).

I'm just gonna check Flint's pilot skills as an "Air Capital of The World" homage. Just like Flint and Lightfoot are Native American/Indian references.

Of all the Joes - based on qualifications - Stalker should be SF. The only guys on his level when it comes to diverse training are Duke, Flint, Claymore, Falcon... pretty much the other SF Operators on the Team. I remember you explaining about Wichita's aviation history. You may be right; it's as good of a theory as any.

Yeah, our two big contracts right now. Spirit makes the fuselage of the new Marines helicopter, the Sikorsky CH-53K. Boeing will make the controversial KC-X Tanker, which will be made from a Boeing 767 commercial model.
