The Prianha wasn't bad. Certainly, it's not perfect, but no Joe vehicle is totally perfect. However, it is certainly true that some are better than others. I'll be honest, the figures at that time were made stragely. The shoulders were too wide or seomthing. But the vehicles at that time: the Piranha, the Patriot Grizzly, the Night Attach Chopper, the Thunderwing jet, etc... those were probably some of the best vehicles Hasbro has ever given us. And, despite the weird construction of the figures, they gave us some really great new character - more new characters than we had seen since the 80's, and certain more new characters than we've seen since.

Hmm which would be the best Joe vehicle ever made? Playability, Durability, and Realistic.
Those ones you mentioned are all great toys Oliver. But the new characters is what always draws me to the line.

There's no way an ensign would command a SWCC detachment except in the most dire manning situations. Think of the ensign as the Navy's version of a second lieutenant... sure, he nominally outranks the CWOs and the CPOs, but his main job is to learn the ropes of command from more senior officers, and not get in the way of the chiefs and the sailors in their day-to-day operations.

The mini-guns from the piranha would rock on my PTE boat.

However, when I first saw the Patriot Grizzly tank and the Night Attack Chopper, I knew we were getting something special. If nothing else, the SpyTroops/VvV era was one of the golden ages of Joe vehicles. Not only were they well designed, but they were durable, and they were fun to play with. So, what's the best vehicle? Hard to say... may we should look at it by catagory... Best Fighter Jet: The old Sky Striker is tough to beat. It was just a great toy. However the X-30 was good in it's own right. And the Thunderwing jet is really great too. It's a hard call. Best Helicopter: The old Dragonfly is still a great toy. However, the Tomahawk may be my all-time favorite. However, the Night Attack Chopper is tough to beat. Best Tank: The Mobat is still fun. The Mauler was cool to look at, but it's small and a little fragile. In my humble opinion, the Patriot Grizzly (and it's Night Force counterpart) was the best Tank the Joes have ever had. Best Jeep: The original VAMP was good, but the Awe Striker was a significant improvement... and is still good. However, The Hammer was an awesome version of the HUMVEE... and the new VAMP may be the best of all. It's just an amazing jeep. What do y'all think?

Both are great. And the Tomahawk is arguably the best Helicopter they ever made. The Whale was a great concept, and it had a ton of fun features... it was just so fragile that it looses a lot of points for durability.

Well, they all have to start somewhere, I guess. But I can relate to how frustrating it can be to take orders from someone much younger and with less knowledge of your job than you do (and I've also been in the opposite situation, being put in the awkward position of having to tell somebody, whom I know is more knowledgeable than I am in a certain technical matter, what to do and when to do it). In those situations, the best you can really do is to just ride it out. |
