Umm, yeah, "My MARSOC style team" is 12 man, because I dont know enough about MARSOC yet. To fully staff a MARSOC team. Time to visit the library again on Tuesday.
Tho I guess my reasoning is. It's easier to fit six on a VAMP 3500 or Humvee than seven. Most episodes or missions in comic books had 6 person team missions. So I guess I wanted them uniform through-out the unit. Just need to find another Delta-style member. Kinda thinking Storm Shadow or Wade Collins to fill that slot. OIC (O3) Assistant OIC (O2) Platoon Chief (E7) Leading Petty Officer (E6) 2 x Pointman (E5-6) 2 x Patrol Leader (E6) 2 x Radio Man (E5) 2 x Machine Gunner (E5) 2 x Medic (E5-6) 2 x Rear Security (E5) |

what numbers do Seals usually operate in? I always thought of them as 2-5 man teams, in out and done, low profile maximum effect. Just wondering because of the current Joes available I can only think of 5-6 potential Seals, max. Those ( and I could be wrong) Are NightFox, Lt. Torpedo, Wetsuit, Shipwreck, maybe Benchpress ( it says infantry but he just feels like a sailor) Any others? Deep six? another stretch because I think he's a Navy Diver.

As Tanksmasher posted above, the smallest operationally autonomous (to a degree) SEAL unit is the 16 man SEAL platoon. On occasion, two of the SEAL positions are replaced by EOD divers. The 16 man platoon can be further divided into two 8 man squads as required and each squad can be further divided into two 4-man fireteams.

I'm planning to include both of these guys in my SEAL team. I'll have to do some research and decide if I also want to include Link Talbot, since I currently know zero about him (not even what he looks like).

Keep in mind that the functional concept of a SEAL platoon is slightly different from an infantry platoon like you'd find in the Army or in the Marines. In terms of organizational flexibility, a SEAL platoon's sub-platoon element composition is rather fluid (it isn't as strictly tied to the fireteam-squad-platoon hierarchy as infantry platoons due to any number of reasons).
