I'd add Mariner to the SEaLs.

International G.I. Joe Collectors' Convention - GIJoeCon 2011! Does he look like Jamie Foxx or is it just me. I think he looks fantastic though. I agree. And Harpoon if you need another body.

The new Sideshow Stalker is the first one since Snake Eyes that I actually want. He was always a favorite of mine, though.

Surefire is already a Telecommunications specialist according to his SMS so maybe that could be his secondary role? I know it seems unlikely given he's a LTC but hey
Order and Lamont are part of this group too but are only used when Law and / or Widescope are performing other activities other than assault like crowd control, etc. Quote:

I use Sure Fire as the Squadron Commander for Military / Law Enforcement types. There are 4 troops (16 men per troop) in the Squadron and is broken down into;
Criminal Anti Terrorism Investigation Troop (all the COPS characters I want to one day make customs for) Tactical Response Troop (the SWAT guys) Offshore Assault Troop (led by Cutter, mostly USCG, Seals and Marines) Counter Proliferation Troop or a Cyber Emergency Response Troop, I haven't decided yet. I'm on a wait and see what figures we get this year In light of the revelation that Surefire outranks Bulletproof I will move him to the team leader spot. I also like the idea that he can serve as a backup radio guy. Thanks for including Lamont in your roster- I wasn't sure what to do with him, but didnt want to leave him out. Just doesn't seem likely that a SWAT specialist would have a dog. For me this team is strictly urban ops- to combat alley vipers & shock troopers. Would like to have a dedicated medic for them. Any suggestions from the known Joes or codenames for a custom? |

Med-Alert seems more of a civilian codename then a military one. Could use him for the urban medic.

Gentlemen, I've had a new idea for my next Custom Project with Marine Deadpool: G.I. Joe SEAL Team
So, I'm trying to figure out the roster, and I need a good list of all the qualified SEALs on the Joe team. Here's who I've got so far... 1. Torpedo 2. Shipwreck 3. Wet-Suit 4. Tracker 5. Wet Down 6. Link Talbot - who needs a code name... sugestions Am I missing anyone? Quote:

My thoughts- I just cant see Shipwreck as a Seal although I do like that most of his Seal figures are not in scuba gear. I do like that you're including Link. I was not a big fan of the character until one of the previous discussions here. The current frontrunner for his codename in my verse is Orca. I know they're not technically Seals but I include Deep Six & Depth Charge on my Seal Team as well as Harpoon & Mariner. What about Night Fox? and I think I borrowed this from someone else here but Trident as a codename for a custom. |

I forgot that Night Fox is a SEaL.
http://www.yojoe.com/filecard/10/nightfox.shtml I like Shipwreck as a Combatant Craft Crewman more then a SEaL, but it does make sense to have one attached to a SEaL team.

Gentlemen, I'd like to have a old school file card discussion...
Windchill version 1 & version 2... Different People. I just found this. v1: Jim Steel, Cedar Rapids, Iowa v2: Jim McDonald, LOCH LOMOND, SCOTLAND!!! Now, the file cards are almost identical in content/story. And the molds/heads used for the two figures are obviously the same. But V2 Windchill is a different character than v1 Windchill, and v2 Windchill is from the UK! Could it be he's not a U.S. serviceman? Considering the Royal Marines are experts in Mountain/Cold Weather... is it possible that v2 Windchill is a Royal Marine? Could it be that Big Ben just found a friend? I'll be very interested to see what y'all think. Having said that- its your verse, use Jim McDonald as you see fit. I love to see guys from the UK/ Australia collaborating with the Joes. I'm trying to flesh out an entire squad of SAS/ SBS/ Royal Marines to cover the European station for the Joes. My thougts are that they would deal primarily with Destro/ Iron Grenadiers. |

I like your thinking Oliver. I think it was a mess-up by Hasbro, but it does give us another new character to add to the roster and Big Ben a mate during his tour of duty with the Joes.
I'd change the name though.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I've been going through a lot of the file cards while making the G.I. Joe Origins map, and a lot of the Joe members have a middle name that starts with "W."
Just thought that was kinda interesting. |
