Run by Dusty no doubt?
Speaking of Mountain Warfare Joes, Red Mack also is listed as a Mountain Military Specialist. I tend to lump Alpine with the Snow guys. The new Alpine cioming up is wearing winter gear so that will seal the deal for me. I tend to group Hit & Run and Red Mack with the other Rangers. But if you were to make your own Mountain Warfare team then you would have to steal a few of the less Jungle Rangers. Outback comes to mind.

So is transposing the word Marksman for Sniper a mistake or are the two words interchangable? Would SnowJob be with Low-light, Shooter, Hollowpoint and Barrelroll?
We have the... USAF SOCOM Sniper: Barrel Roll USMC Sniper: Hollowpoint US Army snipers: Shooter and Lowlight. It almost makes me want to follow Hasbro's origin of Lowlight and make him the Navy Seal Sniper.

Here's a question for the FC experts:
I've been thinking about the Joe mountaineers like Alpine and Hit N Run and debating what sort of teams they would work best with. Alpine, I'd assume, would have arctic warfare experience due to the nature of his work... Just wondering where you guys place him in your Joeverse. Same goes for Alpine. Are they soloists or small-team operators or do you merge them with your arctic specialists? ***Arctic Split A-Team Capt Sub Zero 18A Detachment Cmdr SFC Quickkick 18F Asst Ops & Intel Iceberg 18B Weapons Bazooka 18C Engineer Alpine 18E Communications Snow Job 18B Weapons crosstrained 18D Medic ***Desert Split A-Team WO Dusty 180A Asst. Detachment Cmdr MSgt Law 18Z Operations Repeater 18B Weapons Hardball 18C Engineer Talkfast 18E Communications Footloose 18B Weapons crosstrained Medic I have Hit & Run on Falcon's A Team as 18C Engineer

Quick-Kick gonna need a shirt!
What Lowlight origins are you talking about Takedown? He's not a Seal anywhere I've ever seen. You also forgot Crosshairs.

In Bellomo's collector book it said that Hasbro designer, Ronald Rudat designed Lowlight to be a Navy Seal Sniper , but his character ended up an Army sniper. :( Crosshairs is still on the list of unknowns.

I used to have my Joes structured like SAS Sabre Squadrons;
Air (HAHO / HALO / Air Deployed) Amphib (Small Craft / Combat Diving / Mini Sub (Sharc) Mobility (Mechanized / Desert / Ruck) Mountain (Combat Climbing / Arctic) I ended up having to do a rethink due to my fondness of Arctic and Desert figures. I had more troops than billets so I figured, Mountain Warfare isn't always fought in Cold Weather so took all the winter guys out. My Arctic team is split into; 1) Arctic Ranger Troop (inspired by the Swedish Arctic Rangers) Unofficial Arctic Ranger Page 2) an Arctic Seal Troop (mostly USCG and USN guys) using the PTE Seal Boats I hope to one day paint. I think Seal Teams 2 and 5 are Arctic trained. I'm army building the ROC Deep Six for them. I have 5 so far. 3) OSV (Over snow Vehicle) Troop (Snow Cats, Arctic Blasts, Ice Sabres etc) 4) A Recon troop (Polar Battle Bears, Rockslides etc) 16 men in each troop except the Seals who have a few extra SWCCS and USCG guys to man the boats. I'd love to have the skill to make a Joe Ice Cutter but alas..I suck. The Desert team I'm still working on. I'm thinking of structuring the desert guys as more conventional platoons than SOF. Before 1995, Ranger School used to be 4 phases: Benning, Mountain, Swamp, AND Desert. It discontinued Desert training for reasons of cost. But a lot of guys have complained that it should be brought back because it's the most relevant.
Just a thought, but I figure the Joes could develop their own Desert training course. Quote:
