I think the stars on his shoulders was a mistake.
More then likely the artist, Alex Cal, didn't know the significance and was just going off his reference material which was probably the figure.

Yeah mistake or not I want a no-prize.
I think they just don't give a damn. Too bad. But there is no reason he can't be taking orders from Shipwreck. Torpedo is the one giving orders once on the sub. I'm thinking Keel-Haul is there as more of an advisory role, or maybe all Joes need refresher courses. Maybe the Remora flies too? Keel Haul is really a pilot anyway. Of course Deep-six seems to be runnning the bridge and Flying Submarines is more his bag.

So this is good news about Dial-Tone. Hopefully we'll see him on the classic 25th card with a classic file card. Too bad we couldn't get Low-Light on a 25th card as well.
It would be nice if the club filled the gaps with other figs like DT but at this rate it will take forever to get the rest of the mid-80s Joes. I'm still itching for a class Leatherneck, Lifeline, Airtight, Footloose, and we still need Cover Girl to finish the 83 line. |

Hopefully the Club does him right.

At least the head will be new, so that's a good sign. If they can't kitbash and repaint a body as good as some of the customs I've seen then they should just hang it up.
Can't figure out what the 12" figure will be based on the hints. Why do they specify he won't have a beard? Does this mean the figure will be a "shaven" version of an originally bearded character like Snow Job? And what characters have scars? Maj Bludd? Who else? Not that I collect these but would still like to know. |

The 12" is usually Adventure Team, not ARAH.

And no reply from IDW to boot! It's as if they really don't care about making their comics accurate! Quote:

Urgh, when did that happen?!
I get the same feeling after my little tirade earlier in the week ;) And no reply from IDW to boot! It's as if they really don't care about making their comics accurate! Yeah I was thinking that about Keel Haul, perhaps he is there to have something to do with driving the sub (if I recognised him correctly he was pointing at the hull plan stuck to the wall), and he does seem to have a remarkable lack of knowledge about the effects of underwater explosions on the human body (which I'd expect a Navt SEAL to have). With that said, he leaves the driving to Torpedo rather than taking control when he arrives in the control room. Odd. Yeah I guess I'm just so confused. Sure it's nice to bring back old characters that we enjoyed, or liked or loved. But then to just make them complete unknowns with no background, is sort of frustrating. Sure I get changing the characters a bit, but without any explanation they are still the same old characters to me. Except they now are sort of just cannon fodder. I can't say it's easy to write a story about 200 characters at once, but everyone needs some sort of introduction. Still I like that the story is including other characters. Cover-Girl and Shipwreck are in as many issues as Scarlett, and Snake-Eyes. Duke has been laying low lately. Downtown who is otherwise worthless as the Mortarman, has a law degree. Tripwire isn't a total loser. Bazooka is dead. Again. :( Breaker and Rock'n'Roll and Roadblock seemed to have died? Where are they? Scoop? (I still haven't read those) Chameleon? Jinx is dead! Helix (I'm not sure what that deal is?) Flint has been a non-Character yet. BBQ had an appearance or two Crankcase is not dead anymore. Brainstorm is a major character (Who I sort of don't care for that much, but fills an essential role to the comic) And Keel-Haul is a Submarine Captain\Seaman wannabe SEAL. Why is Wet-Suit on the cover but not in the comic? Or is he?

Wet-Suit was there. He was knocked out.
Breaker and Roadblock haven't been seen outside of Origins. Rock 'n Roll did have a couple panel appearance in one of the early issues. He was wearing a black t-shirt. Helix is showing up in #24 or 25.
