I get where you're coming from Troynos. I'm not a stickler for the art as much as the characters and storylines. Being a writer myself, that's usually the initial point of interest. When you have several different writers on a project like this, there are bound to be inconsistencies. It's these inconsistencies that I don't care for.

Yeah, as a writer, they stick out more. It's up to the editor to "reign" the writers in and make sure they stay in character.
I think they gave Brooks too much freedom. The Bludd story was good, and it's great motivation for a mercenary (to provide a better home for his family then he got), but the H&M Bludd does not relate to the Main-Joe Bludd at all. The H&M Bludd could have been named Frank and the story would have been the same. Really, so far on all four (I've read H&M #2), it's the same. The only thing making them Joe and Cobra is the use of the names. Get rid of the names, the stories are still good, and it could be anyone.

Yeah, I too find the Joe comics hit and miss, especially the main title. I've been very disappointed by it, especially since Chuck Dixon has always been one of my favourite writers.
Christos Gage has been phenomenal on the Cobra series though...hey 1000th post! |

Origins is the useless one for me. It doesn't need to be ongoing. A series of mini-series with gaps inbetween would work.
It's now forcing stories to fit the monthly schedule.

HEy guys been missing out on the conversation of late. Been on vacation for the last couple of weeks. Actually back in the States, so I'm loving the convenience of everything America. I've been meaning to watch the Ultimate Force show you guys have been talking about.
I agree the Origins and main title have gotten painfully slow. And the disconnect is huge between the two. What happened to Breaker and Rock'n'Roll? I only read the 1st H&M. I don't mind them so much, but the lack substance a little. I think they could use those as the Origins title. They remind me of filecards actually, in the way they give a little background, that is otherwise hard to put in a storyline.

Hey Loose, nice to see you back. It's been pretty quiet without you.
I had a nice haul today, got a bunch of POC stuff in the mail (Quick Kick, Spirit, Beach Head, Arctic Duke, Arctic Destro, x 2 Elite Ice Viper, x 2 Zartan) An Assault on Cobra Island pack A bunch of 25th stuff I was missing (HISS Driver, Baroness, Wraith) Then walked into an ALDI supermarket after work and picked up 2 Night Ravens for A$20 each. Pretty stoked. |

Hey Loose, had been wondering where you were. Enjoying the vacation?
So I got a new writing project starting up in next couple of days. It'll be posted exclusively on Kitty's Pryde and will probably end up replacing Gatewatch. I think I can get more legs out of this new one. Not Joe related. I do plan on doing my Joeverse again, Version 2, but not sure when that will see the light of day. Hey Loose, DH moved his Joeverse fan fic over to Kitty's Pryde.

I can't wait until your Joeverse again Troy, but I'm interested in whatever you put out.

Yeah they should really combine the two. It has to be impossible to write a story when you are constrained by what you don't know has happened yet. Especially since all the characters have a certain personality or experience level that you can't convey since it may contradict each other.
