***Disclaimer****I in no way work for Hasbro, but if I did, I could definitely design a better filecard these days. The image used is from McFarland's Special Operator Figurine

Good job, Loose. That's a great update for Rock 'n Roll.

Thanks Oliver. Rock'n'Roll is in sad need of an update. I've sort of taken Zuludelta's interpretation as a SF operator, and Blackrazor's idea of using some of the realistic figures as images.
R'n'R 1st filecard was sort of basic, but I liked the form of putting "Specialized Training:" and then just listing Covert Operations SChool. I also just kept the personal section the same and removed "Naive and Shy" which are lame words to use for any joe. RnR's subsequent filecards are even worse. I always like Rock'n'Roll. the last figure we got was terrible and I think he is way overdue for an update.

Love Rock n Roll Loose, I like the tidbit about how he was inspired by that army ranger, was that in a devils' due comic? very cool.

I've been thinking about Stalker and his green beret. Even though it isn't explicit anywhere in his filecards, he does have the experience and language skills to be thought of as SF.
Here's another theory..what if he did an exchange with the Royal Marines?. The Royal Marines Commandos do allow foreign exchange soldiers to complete their All Arms Commando course upon completion of which soldiers are entitled to wear the combat dagger insignia and a green beret. |

RM is a possibility, but as a Brit I never even considered that. I'd always assumed that as a LRRP he moved to SF hence the beret (with that said, did he already have the green beret when he was LRRping with SE & SS, etc. I wonder...)
And the answer is that yes, he wears a green beret in the comic flashbacks/origins stories. |

Good card Loose. I like the choice of figure. RnR v2 was a favorite of mine.

Thanks Tyroc Blackrazor. Yeah even the 25th version has the DDP reference which is the Hama Origins story anyway.
I think if Stalker was wearing a camo beret then it would point me less towards a Green Beret connection. They took the LRRP teams from 101st Airborne, and the 82nd and 1st Air Cav predominantly as volunteers, then had SF guys train them. Then when they re-activated the Rangers as the 75th, they folded the LRRP teams into the Rangers. So what we really have is a badass 101st Airborne Trooper who went through LRRP Training (Recondo School). Then in 1969 these units were folded into the Rangers. So I think whoever designed Stalker intended it to be just that. LRRPs were the defacto Rangers until the unit was reactivated. But to me a LRRP was more than just a Ranger but not quite a Green Beret. Now Stalker is just too versitle to be just a Ranger. There is no way he would not have been asked to join the Green Berets or would have wanted to try out. But maybe he just got asked by the Joes first? Still the Language school training is the clincher for me, as to why he may have gone through Q courses after Vietnam. Notice he doesn't speak any languages that would have been useful in Vietnam. Swahili?

So what are you thinking, he was not supposed to be a Green Beret and should have had a camo beret rather than green? At what point was the green beret adopted by the Special Forces? Before Vietnam? Could it just be that he has a green beret but is not a Green Beret (tenuous I know)? Quote:
