I'm not sure that makes him Sniper Qualified. Its probably more like Pistol Expert. I think we tapped all the sniper/Sharpshooters. Speaking of Sure-Fire, Does anyone use the two versions as two different characters? I use Version 2 as my Combat Air Controller/Forward Observer/Artillery Coordinator. For the life of me I can't remember the Code Name I gave him. I created the character like 15 years ago and I originally used an extra Guile Figure. He was Army but now after all this discussion he should probably be Air Force since he's a Colonel. |

What do you guys think about GI Jane? She's a covert scientist for GI Joe and a combat nurse (but that's her cover). After she joined GI Joe, she went and got her PhD. So she's a lead scientist and doctor of physics but getting paid at the sgt level. WTF?

If you're GS then you are Officer equivalent. General Schedule - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://www.history.navy.mil/library/...comparison.htm http://www.defenselink.mil/comptroll...appendix_b.pdf Military The worst part is a GS7 is like the Mailroom guy and he might outrank a Sgt Major. And get paid more! (No offense to anyone who works in a Mailroom. I spend a few years in a Mailroom myself) Last edited by Loose Cannon; 12-05-2008 at 11:53 AM.. |

If she is a government agent then she holds some sort of GS rank.

So can chalk Jane up to another Hasbro inaccuracy and not fact checking?
Hasbro really needed to hire a consultant.

You know I just looked at a 2009 military pay chart and it says that a sergeant major with over 20 years is only grossing about $60,000 a year. That's pretty weak pay for a very valuable, highly experienced NCO. And they top out at about $82,000 after 38 years. However, they may have ways of making additional pay.

Yeah, they do. Also remember that alot of stuff is paid for well in the service, for you and your family. So they save alot of money there. Also all the military discounts. I know my friend, when he was in the Air Force, got alot of extra pay. Seperation pay from wife and kids. Hazardous duty pay. And also got a bonus depending on where his flight stopped. He did one short tour over in the United Arab Emirates about 3 years back and got enough extra pay for a down payment on a house.
