In one episode of The Unit,Sgt. Major Jonas Blane leads his team to rescue some hostages on a plane. After he gets back home,
he is in the bedroom taking a drink when he hears a noise. He turns around and sees a shadowy figure across the room. He pulls out his gun and fires and puts a couple of holes in the mirror. The noise he hears comes from a toy monkey clapping his hands. One of the lines he says to his men was you, you, and you panic. The rest of you come with me. |

Yeah, I read on his Action Force Battle File that Action Force Beach-Head is from the NZSAS. Which makes me wonder about the Commonwealth SAS units. I know the British SAS is supposed to be like Delta Force. However, I've read that the Australian SAS is a little more on par with the American Marine Force Recon; in other words, they're not quite as elite as their British counterparts. Australia's answer to Delta Force is their Tactical Assault Group.

I don't know the specifics of the Australian SAS, but apparently they are based on the UK version, and therefore will likely have a rotating squadron dedicated to counter terrorism (presumably called the "Tactical Assault Group") as well as other squadrons performing more "special forces" type roles. Obviously the British SAS(/SBS/etc.) are the best as we started it all ;), but people catch on quickly so I can't see anyone else being too far behind. Quote:
Watch it. It's still A Real AMERICAN Hero.

The 5.56 doesn't deliver enough kenetic energy. The problem is that it's so fast that it goes through the target and hits whatever is behind it. A lot of CT/SWAT units use the .45 acp round. It's big and slow, but it delivers a lot of kenitic energy (knock down force). The 9mm round is very popular for a lot of CT/SWAT units. The H&K MP5, arguably the most popular CT/SWAT weapon in the world, fires the 9mm round.
More and more, the U.S. military 5.56 round is being considered for replacement. There's a lot of talk about going to a newer 6.8mm round. In testing, it's performed a LOT better. Quote:
The actor's name is Dennis Haysbert.
I liked him as President David Palmer on "24", but I didn't like him as SGm Jonas Blane on "The Unit". He's a big guy; he could play "Stretcher". |

If the tangos are wearing vests or have personal body armor. 9mm and .45s don't punch through that well enough.

In my 83rd post,I gave a poor example when comparing the Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles with G.I.Joe. I should have compared the G.I.Joes with the toy line that has been around as long as them. That would be the Transformers. The stats for the Transformers haves changed right along with the G.I.Joe Filecards.

I forgot that Transformers had their own version of a filecard.

And I do not recall Power Rangers ever including anything like Filecards. But I do remember the US release of Ronin Warriors toys (for anyone who remembers that) including a character profile on the back. I wish I hadn't let my mother throw those out with my Pokemon and Digimon cards...

Ok, I have some questions about Cobras I've never heard of, and can't find through google, and if anyone's going to know the answers its you guys. (I do skim the thread semi-regularly, but never really have much to add that hasn't already been found)
Have any of you ever heard of, or know anything about Cobra Agents by the names of: Agent X99 Colonel Sharif Death Metal Madame Umbra Rugrat Thanks |

Rugrat was a Dreadnok that appeared during DDPs run on the book. His only appearance was a Frontline story starring Roadblock.
Shariff was from the back-up feature, Hot Potato, in Joe #1. He popped up a couple of times. He was a middle eastern tyrant. Kind of the middle eastern version of Sierra Gordo's El Jefe. I know Madame Umbra's name but can't place it right now. The other two I don't know.
