Well, Duke only seems overexposed to us because we've followed G.I. Joe a lot closer than the average person. But I imagine from a Hollywood producer's standpoint, Duke seems like the perfect character to serve as a movie's focal point.

Right?! Snipes is well trained in several martial arts. I know Smith is a pretty big guy, but if the two of them were in a fight, I'm pretty sure Snipes would win.
Plus Smith is really tall (6'4") and light-skinned. I've always thought Stalker was around 5'11" or 6' and dark-skinned.

If RoC was supposed to be a relaunch for the Kids, they wouldn't have been expecting a character named "Duke" to have a central role. In the movie, Ripcord was the Special Forces Senior NCO. That's Duke's job. Old fans would have probably been fine if Duke had a less important role in the movie - he never had a big role in the comic.

Snipes has just been laying low since his tax scandel business. No sense working now because they would just take it all anyway.

Maybe he and Willie Nelson will form a support group.

You're right. My problem is that they turned him into an Officer. If they wanted an Officer character, they could have used Falcon, Claymore, Psyche-Out, Steeler, etc.

I think GIJoe is a great tool for teaching those, but

Well if any of these kids had seen Sigma Six they would be familiar with Duke. He has no rank there. Albeit a short run, Sigma Six was a decent cartoon. Better than friggin Yu-Gi-Oh. Plus I think there has been a Duke Action figure in the stores forever. So kids know Duke sort of.
Let's face it, kids have no idea about military roles. I think GIJoe is a great tool for teaching those, but It was hard for me to watch Sigma 6. I tried, but it was just awful. I don't even mind the DiC cartoon - it's at least worth a laugh - but Sigma 6 was BAD.

LOL.
That would be awesome. I could just see the Joes getting into a helicopter - being extracted from a hot LZ - and the pilot turns to them and says "Howdy"... and it's Willie Nelson.
