That's the way I want to end up leaning. And his piloting skills are just natural talent?

In modern day army e-4 equals Specialist. They can go to NCO school and become Corporals/Sergeants.
I use my e-4 Joes as Specialist. |

I see your point and to be honest, I just think Hasbro didn't know how to write "glider pilot" in a clever way. So they made him a fixed wing aircraft pilot. DDP saw that and tried to fix it by making him an Air Force Officer. Again, that's just my theory. His glider is powered and carries missiles - and could technically be considered a "fixed-wing" aircraft. It's a little more than just a glider, and probably took some training to fly it, but nothing the Army couldn't have handled at Ft. Rucker, AL. I think the pilot expertise only refers to his power glider. Just my take on the situation.

Yeah, probably. Check out what they did with Grunt when he came with the Falcon Glider. YOJOE.COM | Filecard Gallery - Grunt His secondary is "Falcon Pilot" and he graduated "Falcon Glider School". Wow, Grunt is also a Small Arms Armorer and Artillary Coordinator.

I know, right? There's no "Falcon Glider School". Ridiculous.
So I think they just tried to call Barrel Roll something else because his glider is pretty cool, and is powered and armed. We may have gone through this before... but can we talk about the other snipers. I just want to clarify. Primary Snipers: 1. Low-Light 2. Cross-Hairs 3. Barrel Roll 4. Hollow Point Qualified Snipers: 1. Scarlet 2. Snow Job 3. Spirit 4. Claymore Are we missing anyone? Is Shipwreck or Torpedo a qualified sniper?

According to comics Barrel Roll was Air Force and can fly almost any FIXED-WING aircraft, and he's also a sharpshooter. According to file cards, he is a glider pilot and sniper. If the comics consider him an officer, then perhaps the file cards are just wrong in that respect. Of course, being a pilot and sniper are very unique roles to fulfill with GI Joe, but that's what makes their members special, I guess. Having dual capabilities. But he clearly served in USAF, even if his current role is infantry-related. |
