I guess Red-Zone wasn't too bad, but it sounds like deoderant. (Luke Ellison the only Joe Fan who won whatever contest to get a Joe named after him)
What name would you pick as a codename? A little off topic, but is the new Rage driver called the Alley-Viper Commander or is he just an Alley-Viper?

I have QK head on Walmart Tunnel-Rat. The skin tone is off, but I didn't want to waste an extra Tunnel-Rat body.

I have no clue what I'd pick. Depends on the character and job.
Windtalker, Windspeed, Lone Wolf, Airstrike, Squall, Bayou, Joker, so many to pick from....

Come to think of it, Stalker may be the most likely candidate for Delta Force (after Low-Light). Let's talk about this for a minute.
Blackrazor recently commented that Stalker is NOT listed as Special Forces qualified. That's absolutely true, but when you consider all his other qualifications: Infantry, Airborne, Ranger. He's also listed as a Medic/Interpreter... now that's Odd. That sounds way more like a SF soldier than a Ranger. Languages are part and parcel for Special Forces. Rangers aren't required to know anything but English. Stalker is fluent in Spanish, Arabic, French, and Swahili. He's a graduate of "Army Language School, which I assume to mean "The Defense Language Institute". Medical expertise among Infantrymen is pretty rare. In fact, they would usually just keep a Medic with an Infantry unit - the Infantrymen Rangers don't crosstrain as medics. His file card also lists Stalker as a graduate of Army Intelligence School. I've never heard of any Ranger NCO's who get sent to Intel school. Now we have to consider that he's an expert in Jungle Warfare because of his time as a LRRP in 'Nam. However, his file card also explains that his time as a gang leader in Detriot makes him an expert in Urban Warfare as well. So let's see: He's an Airborne Infantry NCO who served with the Ranger Regiment - in fact he's listed as a Jumpmaster in his "v3" (Tundra) filecard. He's trained as a Medic He's fluent in four languages He's trained in Military Intelligence One of his later file cards lists him as an EOD, which makes him an expert in demolitions/explosives - He may even be "Sapper" qualified. He's an expert in Jungle Warfare He's an expert in Urban Warfare - and as a Street Gang Leader, it's reasonable to conclude that he's an expert hand-to-hand combatant and knife fighter. He's on the Desert Patrol Squad so he's a qualified expert in Desert Warfare And given the fact that he's been in a Tundra uniform on 3 occasions, it's reasonable to assume he's a qualified expert in artic warfare. It's also noted that he deals with stress very well - the mark of a good leader. He's very intelligent and perceptive, and he's incredibly athletic - which means he's more than capable of working as an individual/independant Operator. And when G.I. Joe is forming, Stalker is acting as Hawk's NCO with past experience with Hawk. If he didn't know Hawk in 'Nam, we have to conclude that they worked together prior to the formation of the Joe team. And if that's when Hawk was working with Delta, then it's very possible that Stalker was with Hawk in Delta Force. When you consider that about 40% of Delta Operators come out of the Ranger Regiment, and that Stalker's qualifications far exceed that of a normal Ranger, it seems like he would be a very likely candidate for SF selection or Delta. Since he's not Special Forces, I don't think it's unreasonable to conclude that he's former Delta Force. Thoughts? As an aside, you guys in the US have a surplus of "special forces" (as opposed to our SAS, SBS and Paras) and it's quite hard to work out the relative difficulty of joining\moving on from any of them. Anyway, from my (admittedly lacking foreign understanding ;) being a Ranger, or Special Forces (i.e. Green Beret) seemed like it would be a natural progression to join the Joes. Navy SEALs seemed like they'd be taking a sideways step (same sorts of skills and ops, but they have specialist skills so would be useful to GI Joe), and Delta seemed to do pretty much the same thing so the question is would anyone migrate from Delta (assuming Delta even exists in the GI Joe universe)? |

Yeah, that's why I think in the Joe verse that the Joes were the Delta of that universe.

While I'm here I should add:
wiki/db - yes would be nice to summarise e.g. different characters' skills/units/etc; and list which characters are in which units, etc. And this sort of fast discussion might be easier on IRC. Though I would probably still miss it being in a different timezone! |

So what about the strictly Action Force Stuff Oliver? Do you incorporate any of that? Myself I only have added a few.
I'm waiting for Blades to show up, but he's American. But Jammer and Skip I've added. unfortunately it's not enough to have an SAS team. Jammer is American too. Too many of them have mixed up names or they just changed the nationality so i have to skip them. (ie Stalker, Steeler, Breaker, Tracker) Gaucho I can't do either. But would love a Eagle, Quarrel, Quickfire, Stake-Out, Beaver, Sparrowhawk, Scout, Wheels, and maybe a few of the others who share codenames if they changed them or something.

Well, if I was going in as a Chaplain, I would like to be called "Shepherd"... but I suppose we've had that conversation a long time ago ;)
However, before I was called to the ministry, I was in R.O.T.C. and I had wanted to be a Military Intelligence Officer. Since birds of prey are a common theme for code names in the Joe Team, I would probably go with that theme... "Knight Owl" Owls are known to be intelligent, and I've always been fascinated with them. As an Intelligence Officer - and if I'm on the Joe team, I'm assuming that my character has got some significant commando training - I think "Knight Owl" would be a pretty good code name.
