And if there's a forum for discussion, we would basically move this entire thread over there... And then this File Card thread would basically have its own Web Site.

I already have enough on my plate... I started developing Troy's J.O.E.-verse V2 this weekend.

HA HA HA
"...And no one on Hisstank ever heard from Oliverbox, Fogger1138, Loose Cannon, or Tanksmasher ever again. However, the most shocking thing was that Troynos only posted twice a day on Hisstank.com from that point on..."

Too late now. You're going to do it. It's in your brain, and it's going to be shouting.

Yeah, probably..
I'm already working out how to organize each Joe's file page, what information is relevant, etc...

Loose, I hear what you're saying. But it's the fact that Action Force fills in the question marks about Hawk that interests me. Let's look at the AF Battle Files for Duke and Spirit. Those articles really fill out the background of those two characters. We were always left scratching our heads as to how an Artillery Colonel (presumably Ranger qualified) got tapped for leading the Joe Team? The Action Force Battle File doesn't contradict anything in the regular Joe Continuity - and it's printed by Marvel Comics.
So what I'm saying is that AF's assertion that Hawk was with Delta is applicable to the American Continuity. You're right, the "Declassified" issue doesn't really say a lot about what Hawk's unit was doing in Borovia, other than providing security. But if we add the AF continuity, they could have very well been a Delta Unit - Delta provides security all the time. The thing about Stalker is that it's never explicitly mentioned that he's SF - never. Even Beach-Head finally gets the nod as an offical Green Beenie. But with all of Stalker's qualifications, there's really only three ways he could be so qualified: Special Forces, Delta Force, or the ISA. There's just no other way he could have gotten all those slots in Language school, and Intel School... not in the modern Army. And so if he served with Hawk previously, and we know Hawk wasn't in SF, and AF says Hawk was in Delta... Delta seems like the best plausible explanation for Stalker. I'm with you Oliver as far as the Action Force stuff. And the Language School and Intel School, that's Green Beret right there. (I don't think Delta even requires the Language school) Most of the AF comics were pretty weak at times, and the whole transition from the Baron and Red Jackel to Cobra Commander and Destro was pure garbage. Still I think Spirit should be a Green Beret. Hawk is Delta, and Stalker could quite easily be Delta and Green Beret. SO should Duke. But Action Force is just not a very official source of anything GIJoe for me. In my personal Joe-Verse I can do whatever I want. (That's how Patton is in charge of Joe Armor and Dr Doom is Destro's cousin) At least with Declassified Larry had a part in that so he filled in some gaps. Like Roadblock being a Ranger is awesome. Why Chuckle is only an E-5 makes me wonder. But with so many differences I can't just cherry-pick parts and make it part of the official Joe-Verse. Now the strictly Action Force guys from before the merge I think can fit in. I'm really looking forward to the 155 1/2 issue(s). That will be official expansion for me. Although I like the new IDW stuff, it's changed the characters enough to make me not like them anymore, because it's still feeding us the same Duke, Scarlett, Snake-Eyes, Baroness, Destro crap. And they went and killed Bazooka again. Who are they writing these for? They may have changed a few characters, but it's sort of the same. I think this is why the Cobra and the Twins issues and Helix are so popular. Something new. I hope the Hearts and Minds comics are the modern Special Missions. Back on topic, To me Beachhead should be a Ranger and Stalker should have got the 18B or 18D. He earned it. (Although I like Beachhead moving up too.) IDW really hasn't done much with Stalker so far. It seemed at first he was something but they already sort of kicked him to the curb.

I once sat down and tried to start a database but quickly realized After a few entries I didn't have a very good layout. Too much to consider, and too many versions of the same characters.

That might be a way to get Hasbro to fix the filecards. If such site got a question every Q & A, we could ask, "Why are the filecards still F'ed up?" Every single month.
Sure we'd get the same crappy response for 3 quarters but then eventually we'd get a "Well we're working on it." Then, "It's in the works." Maybe even joes named after us, or codenames. They'd probably pull out the Sandstorm mold that's just sitting in a warehouse in Macao, and give him a new filename like Troy Oliver. GI Joe Architect/Chaplain

(That's how Patton is in charge of Joe Armor and Dr Doom is Destro's cousin) At least with Declassified Larry had a part in that so he filled in some gaps. Here's what I mean: 1. I'm not saying that Stalker is Delta Force in the Cannon of the Official Joeverse. 2. Action Force has some weight because it was an official Joe Comic printed by Marvel and authorized by Hasbro. 3. Stalker is not necisarrily Delta, but it's plausible. There's enough "room/space" within the continuity to allow for it to be possible. 4. I added Stalker to my custom ODA Team because Stalker should be Special Forces, and so he is in my Joeverse. That's just me; I'm not saying there's any evidence of it in the file cards for the comics. Although, I think he would probably be an 18C because of his EOD qualifications in his later file cards. 5. I'm saying Stalker in Delta is like Roadblock in Special Forces - there's enough evidence to suggest that it's likely, but never made explicit. I certainly agree that there is always a difference between the official continuity and our own Joeverses... however, I think the Action Force continuity has to be seen as something more than just our own personal continuity. It's closer to the official Joeverse.
